Metropolde Yaşamak: Farklı Yaşam Eşı̇klerı̇ne Bağlı Olarak Dönüşebı̇len Esnek Konut İç Mekanları

Abstract

Dünya genelinde metropollerde yaşayan nüfusun artmasıyla beraber metropolde yaşam farklılaşmakta, kalabalıklaşan kent mekanlarında yaşam zorlaşmakta, konutlarda farklı ve çeşitli kullanıcı tipleri için farklı ihtiyaçlar ortaya çıkmaktadır. Bununla birlikte bireyler, yaşam döngülerindeki eşiklere bağlı olarak yaşam mekanlarına farklı zamanlarda farklı adaptasyon süreçleri yaşamaktadırlar. Tez çalışmasının amacı, konut mekanlarının metropol yaşamı ve yaşam döngüsündeki eşiklere bağlı olarak oluşan farklı durumlara adapte olabileceği esnek mekan tasarımları üzerine fikirler üretmektir. Bu bağlamda amaç; metropolde farklı yaşam biçimleri için kolektif, paylaşım ve dayanışma odaklı, ekonomik, esnek ve sürdürülebilir konut iç mekan tasarımlarını araştırmak ve geliştirmektir. Çalışma kapsamında öncelikle metropolde dönüşen yaşam biçimleri, İstanbul'da metropol yaşamı, konut iç mekanlarında esneklik ile ilgili literatür araştırması yapılmıştır. Sonraki aşamada, İstanbul metropolünde seçilen bir alanda alan araştırması yapılmış; ve alan araştırması sonucunda bu alan için farklı ölçeklerde kent ile ilişkili olarak esnek bir iç mekan ve yaşam sistemi tasarlanmıştır. Alan araştırması üç aşamadan oluşmaktadır; öncelikle, alan çalışması yapmak üzere seçilen Maslak Sanayi Bölgesi analiz edilmiş, mevcutta ve gelecekteki durumu ile ilgili bilgiler toplanmıştır.

Along with the increase in the population living in the metropolises, the life becomes diversified and complicated; and various user needs emerges for different user types in housing environments. Besides, depending on the thresholds in the life cycle, individuals have different adaptation processes at different times within their living spaces. The aim of the thesis study is to generate ideas on flexible space designs in which residential spaces can be adapted to the different situations that arise due to metropolitan life and thresholds in the life cycle. In this context, it is aimed to explore and develop residential interior designs for different lifestyles in the metropolis.that are economical, flexible, sustainable, collective, communion and with social solidarity. Within the scope of the study, firstly the literature on metropolitan life styles, metropolitan life in Istanbul, flexibility in residential interiors has been investigated. In the following stage, a field study was conducted in Istanbul metropolitan area; and as a result of the field research, a flexible interior and living system was designed for the selected area in relation to the city at different scales. The field study is consist of three phases; Firstly, the selected site, Maslak Industrial Zone was analyzed to conduct field work, and information about current and future situation was collected. In the second phase, studies were conducted to identify the existing users in the Maslak Industrial Zone. In this context, interviews, surveys and observations were made to understand the current situation. In the third stage, research has been carried out to determine the potential user types, needs and their lifestyles in Istanbul metropolitan area. In this context, interviews, questionnaires and observations were made to determine common needs and differentiated needs of potential user types. As a result of the thesis, a flexible interior and habitation system has been proposed in the direction of information and data obtained from the field research. It is aimed to define a holistic system within different dimensions with the suggested materials, models of production, working principles of social areas and workshops, life styles, etc. of the project.
