Değişen Ölçekler Üzerinden Metropol Merkezleriyle Alt Merkezlerinin Arayüzünün Dönüşümü

Abstract

Metropoller devingen ve sürekli değişim gösteren oluşumlardır. Kendi dinamikleri doğrultusunda şekillenen mekansal oluşumları, kentsel kimliğini oluşturur. Bu kentsel formasyon gene metropol dinamikleriyle süreç içinde yeniden şekillenerek farklılaşır. Bu şekilde metropollerde sürekli bir dönüşüm durumu ortaya çıkar. Bu tez kapsamında dinamiklerin metropol merkez ve alt merkezlerini nasıl şekillendirdiği ve bu yolla metropolü nasıl değiştirdiği incelenmiştir. İstanbul örneği üzerinden gidilerek, üst ölçekte kentsel büyüme stratejileriyle olan benzerliklerinden ötürü Los Angeles, Hong Kong ve Londra ile karşılaştırılmış, buradan elde edilen çıkarımlar üzerinden İstanbul’da alt ölçekte bir alan üzerinde metropol dinamiklerinin bölgeye etkisi incelenmiştir. Bu veriler doğrultusunda yapılan önermelerle potansiyel değişimler ortaya konmuş ve bu değişimlerin metropolü ne şekilde etkileyebileceği tartışılmıştır.

The phenomenon of a metropolis can be explained as an endless changing of the city in terms of growth, renewal/regeneration, sprawl, shrinking etc. Since this particular phenomenon is currently a discussion point all over the world, it is significant to examine not only what metropolises are but also what they are affected by or what they have an effect on themselves. It is essential to analyse their dynamics in order to figure out the transformation. Metropolises emerge as spatial forms which both affect and are affected by the dynamics of the city. Each metropolis has its own practice. In order to figure out the future tranformation of Istanbul, the city has been compared with Los Angeles, Hong Kong and London in terms of the systems that change metropolises. Based on these case studies, an analysis has been made for a selected area in İstanbul, for which future predictions have been proposed. As a result of these predictions, an overview has been given of how these forecasts can transform İstanbul and metropolises in general.
