Burhaniye Hüsnü Tolun Zeytinyağı Fabrikası Koruma Projesi

Abstract

Bu tez kapsamında Balıkesir İli, Burhaniye İlçesi, Yunus Mahallesi, 212 Ada 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 numaralı parsellerde yer alan yapılar konu alınmıştır. Çalışma kapsamında yapıların mevcut durumunun belgelenmesi, yapıların ve bulunduğu çevrenin tarihsel gelişim sürecinin araştırılması ve korunmasına yönelik müdahalelerin belirlenmesi ile yeni işlev önerilmesi hedeflenmiştir. Hüsnü Tolun Zeytinyağı Fabrikası Osmanlı Devleti’nin son dönemindeki endüstrileşme sürecinin Edremit Körfezi’ndeki önemli örneklerinden biridir. Tez çalışması kapsamında yapılar grubunun bulunduğu Burhaniye kentinin tarihsel ve sosyal gelişimi incelenmiştir. Erken endüstriyel üretimin ilk örneklerinden olan buharlı makinalarla yapılan üretim şekli bu çalışma kapsamında ‘geleneksel yöntem’ olarak tanımlanmıştır. Zeytinyağı ve sabun üretimiyle ilgili araştırmalar yapılmış, geleneksel üretim süreci yapılar ile ilişkilendirilerek, yapıların mimari çözümlemesi yapılmaya çalışılmıştır. Yapılar grubunun günümüzdeki durumu fotoğraflar, rölöve çizimleri, malzeme ve hasar tespit analizleri doğrultusunda belgelenmiştir. Restitüsyon çalışması yapılırken Edremit Körfezi’ndeki benzer yapılar incelenmiş; yapıyla ilgili belgeler, yapı üzerinde tespit edilen izler ve eski fotoğraflar esas alınmıştır. Yapıların yeniden kullanımına yönelik müdahale ve koruma ilkeleri belirlenerek, sabunhane ve yağhane yapılarının birlikte korunup sürdürülebilmesi amaçlanmıştır.

In this study, Husnu Tolun Olive Oil Factory and Soapery Building located in 212 block, 6,7,8,9,10,11 parcels in Yunus Mahallesi in the district of Burhaniye in Balikesir are studied. Within this study, it is aimed to document the current conditions of the structures, to research the historical development of the structures and their location and also to determine the necessary intervention to preserve the structure. In the first section of the study, the methodology and the techniques are described whereas in the second section the geographical location, historical, economic, social and cultural developments of Burhaniye are mentioned. In the third section, the information about olive oil production in Edremit Bay and the factories producing with conventional methods are provided. In the fourth section, current condition of the structure, the constructional technique and the deteriorations on the structure are explained. In the fifth section, the comparisons between similar structures are done and the restitution decisions are explained. The decisions about re-using the structure and the applications for planned restoration are explained in the sixth section. The final section explains the general evaluation of the study.
