Boşluk

Abstract

Boşluk, insanın kendisi ve çevresi ile ilişkisine ait yeni deneyim kanallarının fark edilmesi, potansiyellerin araştırılması çalışmasıdır. İnsan, maddesel ve mekansal düşünmeye eğilimlidir. Oysa şeylere ilişkin gerçek bilgi, maddesel olanın ötesinde, aracısız ve kesintisiz olarak ‘bir arada bulunma’ durumu ile elde edilebilir. Yerleşik kavrayışın statik kalıplarından kurtulmak ve atanmış sıfatlardan arınmak, boşluğa yaklaşımımızı dönüştürecek, farkındalık düzeyini arttıracaktır. Bu süreç, imgelemde hiçlikten her şeye, var olmaktan yok olmaya geniş bir alana ait, muğlâk pek çok çağrışımla karşılanan ‘boşluk’ kelimesinin bağlayıcılığında gerçekleştirilir. İlk bölümde ‘henüz olmayan ancak olanaklı olanı barındıran’ boşluğun çeşitli çağrışımları üzerine düşünülür. Çeşitli araştırma alanlarına ait açıklama modellerinin, elbirliğiyle, evrene ve yaşama ilişkin algımızı değiştirmekte olduğu ontolojik düşünce kırılması eşiğinde, yeni boşluk kavrayışı, güncel kuramsal altyapısına oturur. Bir sonraki adım, özerk parçaların sürekli ve dönüşmeye açık ilişkileri üzerinden açılımlanan boşlukta, ortaya çıkış, bir ve bir arada oluş gibi var olma stratejilerinin araştırılmasıdır. Boşluğu işleten temel prensipler nelerdir ya da parçaların yönelimleri nasıl belirlenir gibi soruların cevapları aranır. Daha sonra boşlukta üretimin/yapmanın koşulları yani organizasyon biçimleri çeşitli güncel mimarlık örnekleri üzerinden tartışılır. Mimarlık, bu dönüşümlere hızla cevap veren bir organizasyon alanı olarak değerlendirilir.

Void, is an attempt to explore new spatial, experimental conditions about man and his relation with universe. We tend to think through space, but the real information about the ‘things’ can only be felt in a special situation called ‘being together’. By going beyond stabilized models of anticipation, and getting rid of the notions that we are accustomed to use for the definitions of thins; void will be a fertile field, full of potentials to be explored. Void, implies a wide range of senses, covers emptiness, blank, clearance, expanse,… In the first section, the transformation of spatial perception will be discussed. On the slippery ground of ‘dissolution of the settled conception’ void will be liberated. The main characteristics of the new concept of void are to be evolutionary, continuous and open to any transformations. The ontological breaking in all contemporary research fields is discussed as the theoretical base for the thesis. Near by the doorsteps of radical transformation, the evaluation of the life is speculated through the new conception of void. The thesis aims to tackle the following questions: What are the principles that formulate the being and the coexistence in void? What will be the state of the particles that form the void? What are the conditions of emergence? The last section is dedicated for the discussion on ways of organization, doing/designing in void. Architecture is an adequate field for such a research with its rapidly responding character.
