Musical performance where notation is used is a kind of translation called intrasystemic translation wherein the performer acts as a translator by turning nonverbal signs on the score into music. In this thesis, it is asserted that a musical performance could be analyzed in a way similar to the analysis of a written translated text as long as there is a source like notation. In this research, sight-singing and rehearsed singing performances of a piece never heard by two selected singers before were analyzed and discussed through translation analysis methods and translation theories such as Shift, Text Type, and Skopos.
