Balat’ta Musevi Yerleşmesinin Fiziksel Ve Sosyo-kültürel Değişim Bağlamında İncelenmesi

Abstract

Bu tez etnik grup kimliğinin ve bu kimliğe ait dinsel, ırksal, dilsel, ekinsel, yaşamsal olguların ve değer sistemlerinin mimari çevreye yansımalarını inceleyip açıklık kazandırmayı amaçlamıştır. Çalışma özellikle Balat semtinde yaşayan Musevi grupları üzerinde yoğunlaşmıştır. Balat’ da ki mimari çevre tarihsel, fiziksel ve sosyal strüktür açısından araştırılmıştır. Tez sınırları içinde Rapoport’un kültürel öz elemanları esas alınmış ve bu parametreler doğrultusunda konu incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçları nüfus akımları, kentleşme, zaman olgusu, mekan kullanımı ve sosyal strüktürde oluşan değişimler gözönüne alınarak değerlendirilmiştir. Tez; planlamacıları ve tasarımcıları mikro ve makro ölçekte daha dinamik ,okunaklı ve tanımlanabilir mekanlar oluşturmaya yöneltmeyi amaçlamıştır.

The thesis aims to clarify the effects of the reflections of the ethnic group identity concerning their specific life style , religious , racial linguistic characteristics and value systems which are the shapers of the built environment. The study mainly focuses on the Jewish community existing in Balat. The built environment of Balat has been researched with its historical phases, physical structure and social structure. The thesis suggests to analyse the subject under the ligth of Rapoport’s parameters of cultural core elements. The results are evaluated with the consideration of populatiom movements, use of space, time, urbanisation and social structure of the city. It has concluded with the suggestions to designers and planners about the settlements both in micro and macro scales and direct them to create more dynamic, legible and definable environments.
