Tekstil Sanayinin Kuruluş Yeri Belirleyicileri: İstanbul Metropoliten Alanı Üzerine Bir İnceleme

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı İstanbul metropoliten alanında bulunan tekstil sanayilerinin kuruluş yeri belirleyicilerinin önem derecesini ve bunlar arasındaki ilişkileri ortaya koymaktır. Sanayileşmiş ülkelerde kuruluş yeri belirleyicileri üzerine yapılan çalışmalar, en önemli etmenlerin şunlar olduğunu göstermiştir: piyasalara erişim, sanayi ilişkileri, hammadde temini ve hükümet politikaları. Istanbul metropoliteninde yeralan tekstil firmalarının kuruluş yeri belirleyicilerinin analizi için gerekli veriler 180 tekstil firmasından karşılıklı anket yoluyla toplanmıştır ve sorgulama şu dört ana gruptan oluşmaktadır: firmaların karakteristikleri, erişebilirlik, işgücü etmenleri, çevresel etmenler. İstanbul’da en önemli yoğun kümelenmiş yerleşimlerin Merter, Şişli, Topkapı ve Yenibosna alanlarında olduğu bulunmuştur. Regresyon analizi sonucunda şu belirleyiciler arasında güçlü ilişki bulunmuştur: yıllık üretim ile yıllık satış, yıllık üretim ile hammadde ve ara ürün sağlayıcı firmalar, yıllık üretim ile firma arsa büyüklüğü, çalışan sayısı ile fabrika arsa büyüklüğü, yıllık üretim ile çalışan sayısı. Ölçülemeyen değişkenlerin analizi için Ki Kare test yöntemi uygulanmış ve aralarında ilişki bulunan belirleyici grupları: teknolojik düzey ile yıllık üretim, finansal kuruluşların yerleri ile yıllık satış, finansal kuruluşların yerleri ile müşteri uzakları.

The objective of this study is to explore the significance and relations of location determinants for textile industries within Istanbul metropolitan area. Studies of location determinants undertaken in industrialized countries indicate that the most important factors were: market access, labor market, issues of industrial relations, the availability of raw materials and government policy. The data gathered for the analysis of location determinants for the textile firms of the metropolitan Istanbul belong to the 180 surveyed firms and comprise replies to four major question groups: characteristics of the firm, accessibility, labor issues, environmental issues. It has been explored that the most densely clustered locations of the textile firms in Istanbul are in the districts of: Merter, Şişli, Topkapı, and Yenibosna. As outcomes of the regression analysis several strong relations between determinants have been explored. These are between: annual production and annual sales, annual production and supplier firms, annual production and the occupied area by the firm, employees size and the occupied area, annual production and employees. For non-quantifiable or nominal scale variables, chi square test is used; and, the salient variables groups found with relations have been the following: level technology and annual production, financial institutions and annual sales, financial institutions and location of customers.
