Temsil Araçları Olarak Zanaat Ve Tasarım: Turistik Nesneler Üzerine Kavramsal Bir Analiz

Abstract

Zanaat ve tasarım üretim kültürünün iki temel kavramıdır. Bu iki kavram önceleri bir üretim sürecinin farklı aşamalarına denk düşerken, 20. yüzyıl başından itibaren kutuplaşan kavramlar haline gelerek farklı üretim biçimleriyle üretilen farklı nesne ve anlamlara işaret etmeye başlarlar. Bu farklı anlamlandırmaların en yoğun kullanıldığı alanlardan birisi de turizm nesneleri olarak hatıra eşyalardır. Bu çalışmada zanaat ve tasarım kavramlarının turizm bağlamında ve genel anlamda temsil ettiği değerler olarak zaman, mekan, üretim ve işlev değerlendirilmiştir. Bu kavramsal incelemeyi, temsil işlevinin nesnelerde nasıl gerçekleştiğine dair bir göstergebilimsel analiz takip etmektedir. Bu kavramsal ve nesnel değerlendirmenin sonunda, temsil edilen değerler olarak zaman, mekan, işlev ve üretimin zanaat ve tasarım kutuplaşması içindeki yönelimlerle birlikte genel olarak çalışmada tartışılan diğer bütün kavramları içeren kavramsal bir ilişki ve eğilim modeli kurulmuştur.

Craft and design are the most basic concepts in culture of production. These two terms were understood as the different phases of a production process. However, by the beginning of the 20th century, they started to become differentiated terms and their meaning shifted into different categories of objects and meanings which are produced by different production techniques. One of the contexts in which these significations are mostly used is the souvenirs as tourism objects. In this study, time, space, production and function as values represented by craft and design are examined in general and in the context of tourism. Following this study, a semiotic analysis is made to look closer to the way this representation functioning on objects. After this conceptual evaluation and examining its relations with objects, polarization of the values represented in the opposite concepts of craft and design and together with these terms, a network of relationship among the terms included in the study is constituted.
