İstanbul Emniyet Sandığı Binası Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, İstanbul’da Eminönü ilçesine bağlı Cağaloğlu Semti’nde yer alan Emniyet Sandığı Binası konu alınmıştır. Çalışmanın birinci bölümünde çalışmanın amacı ve çeşitli aşamalarında kullanılan yöntemler anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümde İstanbul Emniyet Sandığı Binası’nın bulunduğu Cağaloğlu Semti’nin ve bağlı olduğu Eminönü İlçesi’nin coğrafi konumu ve yüzyıllar içerisinde bölgenin tarihsel, sosyal ve ekonomik gelişimi ele alınmıştır. Üçüncü bölümde yapının çevresindeki önemli yapılar da ele alınarak konumu ve tarihçesi incelenmiş ve yapının genel bir tanımı yapıldıktan sonra tüm mekanları, cepheleri, yapı elemanları, mimari öğeleri ve yapıdaki bozulmalar detaylı bir şekilde anlatılmıştır. Çalışmanın dördüncü bölümünde yapının yapıldığı dönem olan 20.yy başında İstanbul mimarlığının üslup ve yapım özellikleri incelenmiştir. Beşinci bölümde restitüsyon çalışması konu alınmıştır. Restitüsyon çalışmasında çağdaş kamu yapıları incelenerek, restitüsyon sorunlarına cevap aranmıştır ve elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda plan, cephe ve vaziyet planı restitüsyon projeleri hazırlanmıştır. Restorasyon raporunu kapsayan altıncı bölümde yapının bugünkü işlevine yönelik sorunlar tespit edilerek gerekli müdahale ve onarımlar belirlenmiştir. Tüm bu kaynak araştırmaları, ölçümler ve çizimler sonucunda yapının rölöve, restitüsyon ve restorasyon projeleri hazırlanmıştır.

In this thesis İstanbul Public Pawn, located in Cağaloğlu neighborhood of Eminönü district in İstanbul is studied. In the first section of the study, the aim and the methods of the study have been described. In the second section, geographical location and also historical, social, economical development of Cağaloğlu neighborhood and Eminönü district were examined. In the third section, the location and the history of the structure was examined in detail. Also in this part of the thesis all spaces, elevations, detoriations, architectural and structurel elements were described. In the fourth part of the research the architectural art in the latest 19.th century and the early 20.th century was investigated in order to understand the style of the building. Study on the restitution of the building was discussed in the fifth section. In this study the structures which were constructed in the same period were observed, for finding some similarities. The data provided by old maps and other documents served as evidences in the preparation of the restitution project. The restoration study was handled in the sixth part. Since no change is considered for the function of the structure, it was aimed to answer the daily functional problems and interventions for the restoration project. As a result of all the researches, measurements and drawings the surveys, restitution and restoration projects were prepared. In the final part of the study all the results were evaluated.
