Nevşehir Çardak Köyü, Eski Cami Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Nevşehir’in Çardak Köyünde, Eski Cami ya da Selçuklu Camisi adıyla bilinen tarihi yapının restorasyon projesi hazırlanmıştır. Anıt ilk yapımı itibariyle Erken Bizans Dönemine tarihlenen bir kilise yapısıdır. Olasılıkla bölgedeki Osmanlı Dönemini izleyen yıllarda, kilise yıkıntıları kullanılarak yapılmış tek kubbeli bir cami ile kilisenin ayakta kalan kısımları eklemlenerek bütünleştirilmiştir. Bu proje kapsamında öncelikle rölöve projesi hazırlanarak yapının mevcut durumu belgelenmiş ve yapının her iki yapım dönemini de inceleyen bir tarih araştırması yapılmıştır. Daha sonra yapı ayrıntılı şekilde tanımlanmış ve yapıda meydana gelmiş bozulmalar ve nedenleri tespit edilmiştir. Anıtın her iki yapım dönemine yönelik restitüsyon çalışmaları için, Erken Hıristiyan ve Erken Bizans Dönemi kiliseleri ile Beylikler ve Osmanlı Dönemi tek üniteli camilerinin kronolojik gelişimi, plan ve cephe özellikleri incelenmiştir. Bu bağlamda, yukarıda sözedilen dönemlere ait Kapadokya bölgesindeki kilise yapıları ile tek kubbeli cami yapıları ayrıca incelenerek anıtın bu yapılar arasındaki konumu araştırılmıştır. Elde edilen verilerin değerlendirilmesiyle anıt için restitüsyon önerileri hazırlanmıştır.Bu çalışmalar sonrasında restorasyona yönelik müdahaleler belirlenmiş, sınıflandırılmış ve uygulama öncelikleri planlanmıştır.

In this study, the restoration project is prepared for a historical building which is known as Eski Cami in the Çardak village of Nevşehir. Primarily the monument was built as a church in the Early Byzantine time. Probably, at the Ottoman time of the region, remaining parts of the church were integrated with a domed mosque unit that was built collecting the ruins of the old church. In the extent of this project, existing situation of the monument is confirmed and a historical research that examines the two building period of the monument is formed. Afterwards the monument is described in details and the damages of the building with its reasons are established. The chronological development and the characteristics of the plans and elevations of Early Christian and Byzantine churches with Emirates and Ottoman mosques are examined for the restitution studies which directed to the two period of the monument. In this concept, these church buildings and single domed mosques in the Cappadocia and the place of the monument between these buildings are studied specially. The restitution proposals are prepared with evaluating the documents obtained. After from these studies, the restoration interferences are determined and their application priorities are designated.
