İstanbul Da 1987-2007 Dönemi İçin Bir Konut Tarihi Anlatısı

Abstract

Bu tez, İstanbul’da 1987-2007 aralığında gerçekleşen konut üretim süreçlerine veri çözümleme ve görselleştirme yöntemleriyle elde edilen tespitler üzerinden ilişkisel çözümlemeler öneren bir konut tarihi anlatısıdır. 1987-2007 ve 1992-2007 yılları arasında kamunun, kooperatiflerin ve özel sektörün ilki İstanbul genelinde ikincisi de ilçeleri bazında konut üretimindeki paylarını gösteren iki farklı veri tablosundan üretilen harita ve çizelgelerden elde edilen tespitler, konut üretimi süreçlerinde kırılma, değişim ve dönüşümlerin gerçekleştiği tarihsel koordinatlara işaret ederler. Her bir olayın, farklı tarihsel koordinatlarda parçası olarak kabul edildikleri devingen ekonomik, siyasal, toplumsal, doğal, kentsel vb. ilişkiler ağı içerisinde irdelenmesi ve değerlendirilmesi ile oluşturulan parça tarihsel anlatıların bir araya getirilmesi ile bütünde İstanbul’da 1987-2007 dönemine dair olumsal ve açıklayıcı bir konut tarihi anlatısına ulaşılması hedeflenmiştir.

This thesis proposes an explanatory and nonlinear historical narrative to the processes of housing development in Istanbul between1987-2007 through relational analysis via data visualization. Regarding housing development processes as a very part of a dynamic network of economic, politic, social, natural, urban etc. transactions, relational analysis is constructed on the basis produced by a method which explores historical processes of any phenomenon through analysis and visualization of data belonging to that same phenomenon in order to reveal features latent in the data. Maps and charts are produced from two sets of data in order to visualize certain relation networks and breaks in the history of housing development that are not quite perceptible looking at the data tables only or might be overlooked within linear historical narratives. Those breaks indicate certain historical coordinates through which thorough explorations within the network of economic, politic and social transactions take place in order to reveal possible influences, to propose here an alternative, nonlinear narrative to housing history as a collection of those several thorough analyses.
