Beşiktaş, Makruhyan Ermeni İlkokulu Restorasyon Ve Yeniden Kullanım Projesi

Abstract

Bu çalışma, Beşiktaş’ın önemli tarihi yapılarından biri olan Makruhyan Ermeni İlkokulunu incelemektedir. Çalışma bu ilkokulun bulunduğu parselde yer alan diğer yapıları da incelemektedir. Çalışmanın kapsamı teknik ve sosyal boyutlar ile sınırlandırılmıştır. Amaç, incelenen ilkokul binasının restitüsyon projelerinin hazırlanarak yeniden kullanım projesinin geliştirilmesidir. 1866 yılında yapılan kargir ilkokul binasının mimarı Sarkis Balyan’dır. Yapı 1868’den 1984 yılına dek eğitim işlevini sürdürmüştür. Bu tarihten günümüze kadar boş ve bakımsız kalan yapı adeta yok olmaya terk edilmiş durumdadır. Yapı yerinde gerçekleştirilen gözlemler ve detaylı rölöve çalışması eğitim süreci ve sonrasında yapı içinde ve çevresinde çeşitli değişikliklerin yapılmış olduğunu göstermiştir. Bu incelemenin sonucunda yapının özgün durumu saptanmış, binanın özellikleri ve Beşiktaş bölgesinin sosyal yapısı göz önüne alınarak yapı ve çevresinin yeniden yaşatılabilmesi için gerekli ve doğru müdahale önerilerini içeren bir restorasyon ve yeniden kullanım projesi geliştirilmiştir.

This study deals with Makruhyan Armenian Primary School, which is one of the most important historical buildings in Beşiktaş. The study also covers the other structures existing on the plot where this school building is located. The study is limited to technical and social aspects. The main objective is to prepare the restitution and reuse project for the historical building selected as the topic of this study. Sarkis Balyan is the architect of this masonry primary school building which was built in 1866. The building has been used for education between 1868 and 1984. Since 1984, the building has been vacant without any maintenance meaning that it has almost been left to dilapidation. Site observations and the detailed measurement project showed that both the building and its immediate surrounding have been changed during and after the occupancy periods. The reconstruction – reuse project is based on the findings of the analysis which showed the original situation of the building, on the social characteristics of the Beşiktaş area where the building is located, and on the proposals developed for the necessary and correct interventions to building for sustainability of the building and its immediate surrounding.
