Lefke-CMC Bakır Madeni Alanının Endüstriyel Miras Kapsamında Peyzaj Parkı Olarak Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada amaçlanan K.K.T.C.’nin Lefke bölgesinde yer alan ve bugünkü mevcut durumuyla bölge için çevresel bir problem teşkil eden Kıbrıs Maden Şirketi’ne (CMC) ait alanların “endüstriyel miras” kapsamında yeniden değerlendirilmesine ilişkin öneriler sunmak ve bölgeyi çevresel ve ekonomik yönden yeniden canlandırmaktır. Dünyada gelişen ve “endüstriyel miras” olarak adlandırılan kavram, üretimi sona ermiş endüstriyel elemanları korumayı ve yeniden değerlendirmeyi hedeflemektedir. Endüstriyel peyzajın bir parçası kabul edilen tesisler, ekipmanlar, ulaşım sistemleri ve yerleşim birimleri gibi birçok endüstriyel eleman, günümüzde mevcut şekliyle korunarak sergilenmekte ya da yeni fonksiyonlar kazandırılarak halkın kullanımına açılmaktadır. Tez çalışmasında endüstriyel miras kapsamında uygulanmış ve çalışma alanı olan Lefke-CMC maden alanına örnek teşkil eden üç park projesi ayrıntılı şekilde incelenmiştir. Elde edilen bilgiler ve çalışma alanının özellikleri göz önünde tutularak, Lefke-CMC alanının halkın çeşitli ihtiyaçlarına cevap verecek bir “endüstriyel dönem sonrası parkı”na dönüştürülmesi yönünde öneriler getirilmiştir. Çalışma sonucunda Lefke-CMC alanına ait endüstriyel kalıntıların korunması ve yeniden değerlendirilmesine ilişkin mevcut potansiyel ortaya çıkarılmıştır.

The objective of the study is to make suggestions on the areas of Cyprus Mining Corporation, which is located on Lefke district of T.R.N.C. and which is an environmental threat with its present condition. Rearrangement of these areas in the concept of industrial heritage and revitalizing the region from the point of environment and economy are within these suggestions. The concept of “industrial heritage” aims to protect and provide reuse of industrial elements such as fields, equipments, transportation systems and residence areas. These are all parts of the industrial landscape and they are preserved and exhibitied in their present condition or they are brought into use of public by gaining new funtions. In the study three park projects which have been practiced in the concept of industrial heritage are taken as examples to the Lefke-CMC copper mining area and examined in detail. By determining these sample park projects and the original features of the CMC remains, Lefke-CMC copper mining area is recommended to be converted to a post-industrial park which will fulfill the public’s various needs. Consequently, the present potential for the conservation and reuse of Lefke-CMC mining area’s industrial remains is revealed.
