| tr_TR |
dc.description.abstract | In this study the story of the construction and demolition of the Russian Monument in Ayastefanos, which had preserved its place in the city during the short period between the years 1898-1914, is tried to be conceived through the research of Prime Ministry Ottoman Archives documents and the newspaper of that period. The process of the construction and the demolition of this building transfer to us the Ottoman-Russian relations at the same time. The building which was built as a Russian monument of the victory of 1877-78 Ottoman-Russian War, has been a witness to a demolition with the onset of World War I in 1914. In this study, the relationship between the Russian architectural style and this impressive building which was a church at the same time, has been analyzed. It was seemed that the monument has similarities with the churches and their bell towers that were erected in Russian Style in the second half of the 19th century in St. Petersburg. | en_US |
