Yeni Cami’ Nin Akustik Açıdan Performans Değerlendirmesi

Abstract

Camilerin toplumsal açıdan büyük önem taşıması nedeniyle; özellikle İstanbul’un fethinden sonra, Bizans mimarisine ait dini yapılarla boy ölçüşebilecek ve onlardan hem boyut, hem de kalite olarak daha üstün camiler yapılması gerekmiştir. Mimarlık tarihinde özel bir yere sahip olan bu yapıların bakımı ve korunması, kültürel zenginliğimiz açısından büyük önem taşımaktadır. Bunun için, yapının kalite ve niteliklerinin belirlenmesi çok önemli bir adımdır. İbadet sırasında yaşanan ruhani tecrübenin derinliği, doğrudan mekanın akustik kalitesi ve performansına bağlıdır. Bu yüzden, mekanın akustik karakteri, öncelikle korunması gereken özelliklerindendir. Eminönü’nde bulunan Yeni Cami’nin Mısır Çarşısı’na çok yakın olması ve büyük bir meydanda bulunması sonucu, cemaat 4000 kişiyi bulmaktadır. Yeni cami, hem ait olduğu dönemin en önemli yapılarından biri olması, hem de günümüzde de işlevini en yoğun şekilde koruyan camilerin başında gelmesi açısından, özenle incelenmeli ve korunmalıdır. Bu nedenle, Enimönü Yeni Cami’nin akustik açıdan performans değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Bu çalışma sırasında, mekanın boyutlarının çok büyük olması ve baskın elemanı olan kubbenin geometrik özellikleri sonucu, oldukça ilgiye değer saptamalar yapılmıştır.

Mosques have significant importance for the society. Thus, especially after the conquest of Istanbul, there was a need of building monumental and sumptuous mosques of equal quality with the Byzantine churches. Also, mosques were prestige buildings for the dynasty. The members of the dynasty had built majestic buildings carrying their names. Mosques which were built during this period were important especially with their esthetic and spatial properties and had high architectural quality. Preservation of these buildings that have a special place in the architectural history, has great importance for our cultural multiplicity and richness. The first step to achieve this is the determination of the qualities and properties of the building. The profoundness of the holy atmosphere during the worshipping is directly related to the acoustical performance of the building. Thus, the acoustical characteristics of the room is one of the main qualities which must be preserved. The New Mosque in Eminönü is quite near to the Egyptian Bazaar and is placed on a big open square. Thus, the congregation can be up to 4000 people. The New Mosque, is one the most important buildings of its time and is still preserving its functionality and capacity.
