Dışa Kapalı Konut Yerleşimlerinde Sosyal İhtiyaçların Fiziksel Ve Sosyal Etkileşim Çerçevesinde İrdelenmesi

Abstract

Konut çevrelerinin tasarımı sadece fiziksel değil, aynı zamanda sosyal, ekonomik, kültürel, psikolojik ve politik boyutları da içerir. Günlük kent yaşantısının değişimi ile birlikte konut yaşantısı da değişmekte, kullanıcı ihtiyaçlarının yeniden tanımlanması ve irdelenmesi gerekmektedir. Tez çalışması, konut yerleşimlerinde sosyal ihtiyaçları “Çevre-Davranış Çalışmaları” çerçevesinde irdelemektedir. Sosyal ihtiyaçlar, çevreyi oluşturan iki alt bileşen: “fiziksel çevre” ve “sosyal çevre” üzerinden tüm bu bileşenleri birleştiren dönüşümsel (transactional) yaklaşım ile irdelenmiştir. Oluşturulan kavramsal modeli sınamak üzere iki aşamalı bir alan çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. İstanbul’da 2000’li yıllarda tasarlanan ve inşaa edilen dört farklı dışa kapalı konut yerleşiminde gerçekleştirilen karşılaştırmalı alan çalışmasının yöntemini, anket çalışması ve mekansal analizler oluşturmaktadır. Anket çalışması, toplam 200 kişi üzerinde gerçekleştirilmiştir. Buna ek olarak İstanbul’da benzer konut yerleşimlerini tasarlayan mimarlar ile birebir görüşmeler sonucunda elde edilen subjektif veriler, ele alınan konut yerleşimlerinin bağlamının tanımlanması amacıyla sunulmuştur. Sonuçlar genel olarak sosyal ihtiyaçlar ile ilgili önemli bulgular ortaya koymaktadır. Çalışma, sosyal mekan kullanımlarının sosyal ağların oluşmasında, arkadaşlıkların kurulmasında ve komşuluk ilişkilerinde önemli bir rol oynadığını ortaya koymaktadır. Farklı fiziksel biçimlenişe sahip yapılardan oluşan yerleşimlerde yaşayan kullanıcıların, farklı ölçeklerde, sosyal ihtiyaç verileri farklılaşmaktadır. Bu çalışma ile birlikte, konut kullanıcıların sosyal ihtiyaçlarını fiziksel çevre ile farklı ölçeklerde ilişkilendiren bir kavramsal çerçeve ortaya konmaktadır.

Design of home environments involves not only physical dimensions; it also involves social, economical, cultural, psychological and political dimensions. With the changes in urban daily life, life in houses is changing, as well; and user needs in housing is required to be re-defined and examined. Dissertation examines “social needs” in housing in the framework of “Environment-Behavior Studies”. Social needs in housing are examined over the two components of environment: “physical environment” and “social environment” from the view of “transactional approach” which combines both. The case study is carried out in two stages to test the conceptual model. Method of the comparative case study which was done in four different gated settlements that were designed and constructed in 2000s in Istanbul, contains questionnary applied to the residents and spatial analyses. The questionnaire was applied to 200 respondents. Additionally, the subjective data gathered from the interviews which were done with the architects of similar housing settlements are presented to define the context of the selected settlements. Results essentially presents significant findings related with social needs. Study shows that use of social spaces plays an important role on formation of social networks, friendships and relationships between neighbors. The social needs of households which live in settlements with different physically formated housing blocks, differ in the defined scales. By means of this study, a conceptual framework which correlates households’ social needs with pyhsical environment in different scales is presented.
