Despite of the teardrops and unhappines we can interprete these occasions as good times. ^vix- Entertainments areinterrelated with traditions and rituals. They are a source of culture. These traditi- shouldn't be forgotten and they should be kept alive and passed to new generations In these traditional entertainments women were seperate from men. All young and old men used to gather in a room and play bağlama and sing. The ones that play ed T.S.M. instruments used to play to women as well. Thats why blind men used to be preferred. Besides these entertainments that is being expe rienced today, some of them are totally forgotten, not being played and some of them is hardly played. Some of the traditional plays that have notes are remembered as türküs. The name of the plays are remembered but the in formation about the details are not! And some of them survives as "National Plays". In the old times, these meetings called "Sıra Gez mesi" used to be held once a week, mostly Fridays. In these "Sıra gezmesi "s the young and the old used to gat her seperately, in different places. According to the old Ankara traditions, the pre sence of them both, the chats and the locals were all seperate. Thes was a must of respect and ofcoure traditi on. The young couldn't smoke, drink or even interrupt to speaches near the old. Under those conditions the young used to show the very best example of respect by seperating their places. Cümbüş Alemi were the meetings that women belly- dancers existed. As not being accepted by the society, these meetings were being held in such far away areas like Ankara Castle. In order to join these "Cümbüş Alem"s one should be able tokeep secrets and obey general rules. In Cümbüş, the dance of women was up to the app roval of the "Efe"s and the helpers that have beards. The main place belonged to the old efe. The other used to place themselves according to their ages and their statues. The night that was starting with "saz" used to continue with "divan" s and "koşma"s. Looking at the up per areas of women during the play used to be considered as an insult to the "efe". There used to be a death hush while "saz" was being played. The Ankara community, used to keep a Turkish tra dition called "Seymen Düzülme" alive as a secret spirit in their heart. Ankara has kept "Seymen Düzülme" as a tradition. Now a days Ankara is a modern city with a popula tion of 3 million.
