Çağdaş Küresel İlişkilerin Kentleşme Süreçlerine Ve Kentsel Mekâna Etkisi

Abstract

Küresel ilişkiler ve kentleşmenin karşılıklı etkileşimini konu alan bu çalışmada; çağdaş küresel ilişkiler içerisinde kentleşme süreçleri ve kentsel mekânın dönüşümü ile mimarlığın küreselleşme sürecine dâhil oluş şekli tartışılmaktadır. Tez kapsamında, sanayi devriminden günümüze kadar ekonomik, politik, toplumsal ve mekânsal anlamda yaşanan değişimler, bu değişimlere bağlı olarak gelişen küresel ilişkiler aşama aşama kurgulanmış ve küreselleşme kavramı tanımlanmıştır. Bu anlamda, yeni bir kırılma dönemi olarak görülen yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısında değişen ekonomik ilişkiler içerisinde kentlerin rolü, bu değişimlerin kentleşme süreçlerine etkisi tartışılmış ve çağdaş küresel ilişkiler içerisinde ortaya çıkan rekabet ortamı ile bu rekabet ortamı içerisinde, kentlerin ekonomik kalkınma amacıyla farklılıklarını artırma çabası ortaya konulmuştur. Çağımızda küresel ilişkiler içerisinde kilit roller üstlenen günümüzün kentleri, bir taraftan küresel eğilimlerin getirdiği problemlerle mücadele ederken diğer taraftan küresel ekonomik sistem içerisinde yatırım çekebilecek yeni çevrelere ve düzenlemelere ihtiyaç duymaktadırlar. Bu anlamda birçok kent uluslararası yatırımı çekebilecek benzer eğilimler göstermekte ve küreselleşme amacı mekânsal dönüşüm ve mimarlık üzerinden gerçekleştirilmektedir.

In this study which focuses on the mutual interaction of global relations and urbanization; processes of urbanization, the transformation of the urban space and the way architecture has been included in the process of globalization are discussed. Within the scope of the thesis; the breaking points around political, social and spatial transformations that have taken place since the Industrial Revolution and the global relations that have developed based on these breaking points have been examined step by step. The role of cities in the economic relations changed in the second half of the Twentieth Century that is seen as a new breaking point, the influence of these changes on processes of urbanization and the emerging concept of city have been discussed. The efforts of cities to increase their distinctness for the purpose of economic development in the competitive environment emerged within contemporary global relations have been presented. It has been observed that very important developments in the late Twentieth Century that supported the construction of globalization have accelerated the processes of globalization throughout the world and rendered cities much more important in the global system that is defined as a web of relations dispersed throughout the world. Today s cities, which take key roles in this wave of change, not only struggle with the problems brought about by global tendencies but also need environments and arrangements that might attract investment in the global economic system. Cities exhibit similar tendencies to attract international investments and the aim of globalization is achieved through spatial transformation and architecture.
