Türk İnşaat Sektöründe Liderlik Yaklaşımları Ve Cinsiyet Arasındaki İlişki Üzerine Bir Araştırma

Abstract

Günümüz rekabet ortamında sektörlerin ihtiyaç duydukları en önemli insan kaynağı liderlerdir. İnşaat sektörü ise tüm dünyada ekonominin lokomotif sektörlerinden biridir. Bu bağlamda sektörel karşılaştırma yapıldığında liderlik konusunda inşaat sektöründe yapılan çalışmaların az olduğu görülmektedir. İnşaat sektöründeki bir diğer problem ise sektörde kadın istihdamındaki belirgin azlıktır. Sektördeki cinsiyet ayrımcılığı dikkat çekicidir. Tez çalışmasında liderlik ve cinsiyet konuları birlikte ele alınıp, literatür taraması kısmında ilgili kavramlar ve örnek çalışmalara yer verilmiştir. Tezin özgün bölümünde ise Bass tarafından geliştirilmiş MLQ 6S anket formu kullanılarak, Türk inşaat sektöründe yönetici pozisyonunda çalışan kişilere liderlik yaklaşımlarını belirlemeye yönelik bir anket uygulanmıştır. Sonuçlar çeşitli demografik özellikler bağlamında incelenmiştir. Özellikle cinsiyet ve tercih edilen liderlik yaklaşımları üzerinde durulmuş ve Türk inşaat sektörünün liderlik ve cinsiyet başlıkları altında kültürel yapısı hakkında izlenim sahibi olmak amaçlanmıştır.

In today s competitive environment, leader is one of the most important human resources that businesses need .In the world of business, the construction industry which has a very high employment share ratio and which supplies the general employment of people, needs leaders too. However, if we compare the construction industry with other sectors, we can recognize that studies on leadership in construction industry are very few. One another problem of construction industry is the obvious lack of female employment. Gender discrimination in the industry is striking. In the literature part of the thesis, leadership, gender, and the studies on both of these titles are discussed. In the original section of the thesis, MLQ6S questionnaire, developed by Bass, applied to people who work as executive positions in Turkish construction industry, to determine their approach to leadership. Results were exemined in context of different demographic characteristics.Particular focus on gender and the preferred leadership approach, and intended to have views about the cultural structure of Turkish construction sector under the headings of leadership and gender.
