Bir Mitin İki Ucu: Kent Ve Sinema

Abstract

Mit; insan tarihinden bu zamana dek anlatılan; dinsel ve mitolojik hikayeler, masallar, düşler ve öyküler içinden simgeler aracılığı ile “varoluşu” araştırır, betimler. İnsanı, bedeni, karakteri, algıları, davranış ve tutumları üzerinde yoğurarak; tanrısallaştırırken; bu abartılmış özellikleri simgesel olarak varlığı kutsar. Bu simgesel dokular içindeki örtük bir düşünüşün-sanatın ürünü olan kentler tanrılarını kaybetmeye başladığında, mit içinde simgelere boğulup artık mitin ardı görünmez olduğunda; sinema vücuda gelir. Varoluşun, uzak bir diyarda, belirsiz bir zamanda gerçekleşen bir ütopya bir mitten ibaret değil; “tam şu anda ve burada” bulunan ve olmakta olan şey olduğunu gösterir. Bu anlamda kent-mimari ve sinemanın birlikteliği; gelişimlerinde yalnızca görsel, biçimsel ve teknik anlamda değil; tinsel ve anlamsal olarak da, birbirine dokunmaktan öte birbiri içine sızarak gerçekleşmeye başlar. Bu bağlamda çalışma içinde bir mitin iki ucu olarak kent ve sinema; anlama ve bilme durumu, varoluş düzlemleri ve bu varoluşun çözümlenerek anlam bulması; mitin açımlanarak iletişimsel eylemde bulunması kapsamında incelenmiştir.

Myth: described from the beginning of human history; explores and describes “the existence” through the religious and mythological stories, fairy tales, stories of dreams and symbols. Myth blesses the existence symbolically, divining the man by kneading the body, character, perceptions, behaviours and attitudes by exaggerated features. Cities as products of an implicit thinking and art in a symbolic texture, when began to lose their gods; drowned into the myth till the myth no longer exists, then the cinema happens. It shows the existence is not just a myth, a realm far from an unspecified time, a place of utopia; it is something that is happening now and here, right now”. In this sense, the urban/architectural and cinema unity in their development starts to occur, not only visually, but the formal and technical sense; also spiritual, and semantic, beyond touching the other more penetrate into each other. In this context, working within the two ends of a myth, the city and cinema investigated under the presence of understanding and knowing the situation, planes of existence and to find meaning in the resolution of this existence; making the myth visible and active in communicative action.
