Boğaz Yerleşmelerinde Değişen İnsan–çevre Etkileşimi Ve Mahalle Bağlılığı: Kuruçeşme Örneği

Abstract

İnsan ve yaşadığı çevre arasında sürekli bir etkileşim vardır. Çevre insanı etkilerken, insan da çevreyi kendi isteklerine göre yeniden şekillendirir. Hem fiziksel çevre, hem de sosyal katılım mahalle yaşamının oluşumuna ve içinde yaşadığımız çevre ile bağ kurulmasına olanak verir. Bireyin mahalle bağlılığı insan ve çevre kaynaklı faktörlerden etkilenir. Boğaz yerleşmelerinden Kuruçeşme; şehir merkezine yakınlığı, efsanevi güzellikteki doğal ve fiziksel çevresel özellikleri ve ‘mahalle’ karakteri ile bir cazibe ve çekim merkezidir. Farklı kültür, din, dil ve kökene sahip insanlardan oluşan heterojen bir yerleşmedir. Kesin sınırlarla birbirinden ayrılmamış geleneksel konutlar, lüks siteler ve restore edilmiş konutlar ile apartmanlar ve gecekondulardan oluşan karmaşık bir fiziksel dokuya sahiptir. Kuruçeşme’nin en önemli karakteristik özelliği farklı katmanları içinde barındırmasıdır. Bu çalışma; insan-çevre etkileşimi ve bu etkileşim boyutlarından mahalle bağlılığı kavramı üzerine yoğunlaşarak, fiziksel ve sosyal çevre özelliklerini ve bu özelliklerin mahalle bağlılığı ile arasındaki ilişkileri incelemeyi, farklı kullanıcı gruplarının mahalle bağlılıklarını, bu bağlılıklar arasındaki farklılıkları, zaman içindeki değişimlerini ve etkilendikleri faktörleri ortaya koymayı amaçlamaktadır. Çalışma kapsamında; çevre, insan gereksinimleri, insan ve çevre etkileşimi incelenmiş, mahalle ve mahalle yaşamı üzerinde durularak, yer bağlılığı ve mahalle bağlılığı kavramları derinlemesine analiz edilmiştir. Daha sonra günümüzdeki Kuruçeşme Mahallesi geçmiş ile karşılaştırılarak farklı yönlerden ele alınmıştır. Bu teorik çerçeve doğrultusunda, mahalle bağlılığını ortaya koymaya yönelik bir alan çalışması yapılmıştır.

There is an interaction between people and the places where they are living. While the environment affects the man, it is also reshaped with the person’s demands. Both the built environment and the social involvement enable the community life and a bonding to be formed. The community attachment of the individual is influenced by human and environment originated factors. Being one of the Bosphorus settlements, Kurucesme, with its proximity to the city center, legendary natural and physical features and the ‘community’ character, becomes an attraction point. Comprised of various cultures, religions, languages, origins it is a heterogeneous settlement. It has a complex physical texture comprised of the existing traditional houses, luxurious houses, apartment blocks and squatter settlements with no clear distinctions between them. Accommodating different cultural and social layers is the most outstanding feature of Kurucesme. This study aims to investigate the community attachment issue by concentrating on the man-environment interaction, to explore the physical and social environment characteristics and their relationships with the community attachment concept, to find out the levels of attachments among the different resident groups, their differences, transformations in the course of time and the affecting factors. In the scope of this study environment, human needs, man-environment interaction, neighborhood and community life concepts are investigated; place attachment and community attachment issues are analyzed profoundly. Today’s Kurucesme is investigated from different aspects by comparing with the case of past. Consequently, in order to depict the community attachment within the settlement a case study is conducted.
