Tasarım Yolu İle Yapılan Stratejik Filantropi; Kriz Durumlarında Tasarımsal Çözümler Üretme

Abstract

Bu tez “tasarım” ve özellikle “tasarım yoluyla yapılan stratejik toplumsal yardım”ın geleneksel hayırseverlilik anlayışı olan parasal yardıma oranla ne kadar anlamlı, kalıcı ve yenilikçi çözümler getirdiğinin üzerinde durmuştur. Stratejik toplumsal yardımın sadece çözüm değil; aynı zamanda tasarımcılar, sivil toplum örgütleri, kamu yararına çalışan ortaklar, yerel ve evrensel katılımcılar gibi çeşitli grupların yetenek ve bilgilerini birleştiren bir hizmetler sistemi olduğunun altını çizer. bu tezin amacı tasarım dünyasında bir farkındalık yaratmaktır. Yenilikçi malzeme tasarımı ve inşa teknolojilerinin kullanımının çevreyi olumlu yönde etkilediği ve milyonlarca insanın hayatını değiştirdiği ve geliştirdiği bilinmektedir. Tasarım her sorun için bir çözüm oluşturmasa da, sosyal sorumluluk içeren tasarımın doğal ve yapay felaketlerden kaynaklanan ölüm riski ve hayati tahribatı azaltarak ekonomik ve sosyal başarı sağladığı bilinmektedir.

This thesis is mainly on how “design” especially “strategic philanthropy by design” can deliver meaningful, permanent and innovative solutions to the people suffering from humanitarian crises around the world. In contrast to traditional philanthropy in the form of plain financial donations, the thesis supports that strategic philanthropy provides not only the solution but also the service-system, which enables to combine the capabilities and knowledge of the different groups like designers, local and global players, non-profit partners and non governmental organizations to reach the perfect solution. A stronger understanding of the impact of design and construction on the environment and the use of innovative materials and building technologies has the potential to improve millions of lives. While design is not a solution for every thing, thoughtful design has been shown to generate greater economic prosperity, to reduce the risk of death and destruction from natural and man-made disasters and to generate a sense of dignity and pride.
