Türkiye’de Lojmanların Oluşumu Ve Bu Oluşumun Temellendirilmesi

Abstract

Konut sorunu, Endüstri Devrimi’nin beraberinde getirdiği insanlığı temelden etkileyen başlıklardan biridir. Sanayi kentlerinin ortaya çıkması ile birlikte insan hayatında yeni bir dönem başlamıştı. Yeni yaşam biçimlerini beraberinde getiren bu dönemde birarada yaşama pratiğini inceleyebileceğimiz mekanlardan biri de konuttu. Bu çalışmanın amacı sözü edilen yeni dönemi Türkiye’de ortaya çıkan örnekleriyle inceleyerek temellendirmek ve yaşam kültürünün bir parçası olan lojman hayatını sosyolojik ve mimari yönleri ile ele almaktır. Çalışmanın kuramsal çerçevesi, endüstri devrimi ile beraber artan nüfusun yoğun konut talebine farklı coğrafyalardan yükselen yanıtların, çözüm önerilerini ve ütopyaların incelenmesi ile ortaya konulur. Çalışma iki ana bölümden oluşur: Birinci bölümde, sanayi kentinin doğuşu, konut sorunun ortaya çıkışının anlatılması ve bu sorunun nasıl temellendirildiğine değinildikten sonra, 19. yüzyılda farklı coğrafyalarda konutun evrilmesi incelenir. İngiltere, Almanya ve Rusya’dan işçi konutu örnekleri, onların ortaya çıkış nedenleri ve süreçleri üzerinde durulur. Bu bölümün devamında Osmanlı Devleti’nde işçi evlerinin oluşum evreleri incelenir. Geç Osmanlı ve erken Cumhuriyet döneminde, konut sorununa nasıl yaklaşıldığı ve “modern kent” tahayyülünün bu coğrafyadaki karşılıkları irdelenir. İkinci bölüm erken Cumhuriyet dönemindeki, endüstrileşme ve sanayileşme politikalarının kısaca üzerinde durulması ile başlar, fabrika ve modernlik ilişkisinin, Türk modernleşmesi üzerinden incelenmesi ile devam eder. Bu bölümde lojman yaşantısı ve aidiyet hissi temaları irdelenir, bu temalar çeşitli kamu yerleşkelerinden örneklerle incelenir. Bu yerleşkelerin vaziyet planlarındaki işlev ilişkileri üzerinde durulur, Dönemin mimarisini etkileyen faktörlere ve sebeplerine lojman yapıları ile ilişkilendirilerek değinilir. Son bölüm tezin sonuç ve bulgularının tartışılmasına ayrılmıştır.Housing problem is one of the major problems which revealed throughout Industrial Age. After the industrial cities were created, a new period in human’s life began. In this period, the life styles of people confronted profound changes in terms of living together and one of the significant forms where the practice of living together can be observed is housing. The aim of this thesis is to ground the employee housing settlements which appeared in Turkey in the late Ottoman and early Republic period with the examples coming out from Europe and Russia and evaluate these settlements as an important ring of culture that was formed in this geography. The theoretical frame of this study is composed of the responses to housing demand of increasing population due to industrial revolution, proposals and utopias from different countries. This thesis is composed of two sections. In the first section the birth of industrial city, and emergence of housing problem and the grounding of this problem are analysed while the evolution of house in different geographies in the 19th century is researched. The examples from Germany, Russia and Britain and their forming reasons are focused. The projections of these typologies emerging in early years of Turkey and late period of Ottoman are analysed and it is discovered how the interpretation of “modern city” evolved in this geography. In the second section the politics of Turkish Republic about industrialization is analysed and the relationship between the factory, modernization and Turkish modernity is focused. Themes such as life in the employee housing and the feeling to be part of the society are discussed. The site plans of the employee houses are analysed. The factors which affect the architecture of that period are referred by correlating employee housing. The last part of the study is to discuss and evaluate the conclusions of the thesis.
