Çağdaş Tiyatro Mekanı

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, tarihi insanlık tarihi kadar eski olan tiyatronun çağdaş bir kimlikle, yeni bir anlayışla ele alındığında nasıl bir mekana ihtiyaç duyduğu incelenmiştir. Bu tez kapsamında, tiyatro denilince insanların kafasında beliren biçemin aslında sadece belli bir döneme ait olduğunu, tiyatral mekanın zaman içinde ne kadar çeşitlilik gösterdiğini vurgulamak adına Antik Yunan dan günümüze dek tiyatro düşüncesindeki ve tiyatro mekanı kullanımındaki değişimler incelenmiştir. Ayrıca modern tiyatronun ve modern mimarinin etkisinde biçimlenen tiyatro mekanı anlayışı, çağa ayak uyduran, geçmişi taklit etmek yerine yeni çözümler bulmaya çalışan, araştırmacı bir tiyatro anlayışına sahip deneysel tiyatro çalışmaları ve bunların mekanı kullanış biçimleri, mimarların çağdaş tiyatronun ihtiyaçlarına cevap verebilmek adına tasarladığı mekan örnekleri, Türkiye de tiyatronun geçirdiği dönüşümler, üretilen tiyatro mekanı çözümlemeleri ve çok yaygın olmasa da çağdaş tiyatro adına yapılan çalışmalar ve bu çalışmalara zemin oluşturmak adına tasarlanan kısıtlı sayıdaki mekan örneği tez kapsamında incelenmiştir. Bu çalışma, çağdaşlığın çoğu zaman Batılı olmakla bir tutulduğu ülkemizde aslında çağdaş tiyatronun temellerini nereden aldığını, hangi düşünce sistemleri içinde değerlendirilmesi gerektiğini ortaya koymayı amaçlamıştır. Yapılan bu çalışma çerçevesinde, çağdaş tiyatronun kesin sınırları mimar tarafından belirlenmiş, kullanıcısına belirli ilişki kurgularını dayatan bir mekana değil; gerek tiyatrocunun (yönetmen / oyuncu / skenograf) gerekse izleyicinin hayalgücünü harekete geçiren, çevresiyle ve izleyici ile ilişki kuran, çok farklı düzenlemelere olanak sağlayan, her projede yeniden ele alınıp farklı biçimlerde şekillendirilebilen esnek, dönüşken, devingen bir mekana ihtiyaç duyduğu sonucuna varılmıştır.

Theater history leads back to the history of mankind. In this thesis, what kind of a space does theater need is observed when it is considered with contemporary identity and a new understanding. In this thesis the changes in the theater idea and the use of theatrical space from Ancient Greek till today is observed to state that the scheme which people today understand from theatre in fact belongs only to a certain period and theatre space varies in time. Also, the modern theater and the theatre space taken shape by the influence of modern architecture, the experimental theater that tries to keep in step with the era instead of imitating the past and its way of using space, some example spaces which were designed by architects with the aim of meeting the needs of contemporary theater, the changes in the Turkish Theater, the theatrical space examples, the works created in the name of contemporary theater and a limited number of spaces which were designed for preparing a suitable ground for these avant-garde works are observed in the thesis. In our country being contemporain is generally accepted to be the same thing with being Western. This thesis aims to put forth the sources of contemporary theater and ideal systems which it should be examined through.This thesis proves that contemporary theater doesn t need a space which constrains definite actor - audience relation schemes and the limits of which is determined by the architect; but a flexible, dynamic, changeable space which set the imagination of both the theatrical crew (director / actor / scenograph) and the audience into action, which has a lively relation with both the audience and its environment, which creates different opportunities for a variety of lay-outs and which can be reconsidered in different ways for every single project.
