Halep Ahmediye Medresesi Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Ahmediye Medresesi, Halep’te günümüze ulaşabilmiş 18. yüzyıla ait Osmanlı eğitim yapılarının önemli bir örneğidir. Çalışmada, yapının korunmasını sağlamak üzere, gerek yerel halkın ihtiyaçlarını gerek uluslararası koruma ilkelerini dikkate alan bir restorasyon ve yeniden kullanım projesi oluşturulmaya çalışılmıştır. Tez çalışması tarihi araştırma, mimari/yapısal deskripsiyon ve strüktürel sorunlar ile malzeme hasarlarının değerlendirilmesini kapsamaktadır. Restitüsyon çizimleri, tarihi araştırmanın yanı sıra, yapının, Halep ve İstanbul’daki diğer 18. yüzyıl medreseleriyle karşılaştırılması sonucu oluşturulmuştur. Son olarak, periyodik bir koruyucu bakım programını esas alarak ve yapıyla uyumlu olacak şekilde, yeniden kullanım ve müdahale önerileri saptanmıştır.

Al-Ahmadiyya madrasa is a valuable example of 18th century free-standing Ottoman schools in Aleppo, Syria. To ensure its protection, this thesis attempts to propose a restoration and reusing scheme which fulfills the need of the local community and the international standards of the conservation of historical buildings. The study includes full historical research, architectural and structural description together with an evaluation of structural problems and material deterioration. Restitution drawings were tried to be accomplished according to the historical research and the comparison of the madrasa with other 18th century madrasas in both Aleppo and Istanbul. Finally, compatible re-using and interventions were proposed with the emphasis placed on a periodical program of preventive maintenance to be designed.
