Mühendislik Eğitiminde Toplam Kalite Yönetimi Ve Metalurji Ve Malzme Mühendisliği Bölümündeki Abet Uygulamaları

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, mühendisliğin tanımı mühendislik eğitimin önemi ve uygulanabilirliği üzerinde durulmuş ve bir eğitim sisteminin en iyi şekilde yürütülebilmesi için gerekli adımlar tetkik edilerek sıralanmıştır. Mühendislik eğitiminde göz önünde bulundurulması gereken en önemli hususlar belirlenmiş, ülkemizdeki mühendislik eğitiminin durumu, eğitim kalitesi ve eğitimde karşılaşılan problemler detaylı olarak incelenmiştir. Eğitim kalitesini artırmak için yapılacak işler ve alınacak tedbirler birer öneri niteliğinde sunulmuş ve sonuçlar belirlenmiştir. Uygulama odağı olarak İTU Metalurji ve Malzeme Bölüm’ü seçilerek bölümde son yıllarda uygulanan akreditasyon çalışmaları çalışma kapsamında irdelenmiştir. Çalışmanın uygulama kısmanda İTÜ Metalurji ve Malzeme Mühendisliği mezunlarına anket yapılmıştır. Anketin genel amacı toplam kalite ilkeleri doğrultusunda ABET mühendis kriterlerini kurum öğrencilerin istekleri ve günümü iş koşullarına uygunluğunun incelenmesi, öğrencilen belirlenen kriteler çerçevesnde değerlendirilmesi, öğrencilerin istek ve beklentilerinin belirlenmesidir.

In this study, engineering education in Türkiye was investigated and tried to explain meaning of engineering. . For this purpose, definition, importance and quality of education was expressed. Especially, education of engineering are considered. To develop quality of engineering education, the most important points were presented. There are many problems in engineering education system in Türkiye. In this study, engineering educational life in Türkiye was critisized, requirements of improving the quality of education were discussed. Finally, possible solutions to problems were proposed. Department of Metallury and Material Engineering of Istanbul Technical University has been chosen as an application unit and last applications about quality developing has been considered. During the application of this investigatio, different questionnaires have been prepared fort he students who graduated in different times in this department. The main purpose of the questionnaires was to investigate the ABET enginnering criteria and the suitability of tese criteria fo r the industrial applications, demands and expectations of the students of Metallurgy and Material Engineering departmenrt.
