Yapım Ve Yıkım Eylemi Olarak Mimari Manifestolar

Abstract

Entelektüel bir söylem aracı olan mimarlığın, “düşünme ve eyleme dökme” aralığından yola çıkan bu çalışmada, mimarlığın bu dualistik yapısını açığa çıkaran ürünler olarak manifestolar incelenir. Mimari manifestolar, diğer mimarlık ürünleri ve yazınlarından farklı olarak sadece inşa etmekle ya da söz üretmekle kalmaz, söylemle eylemin sınırlarını eriten girift bir arakesit oluştururlar. Bu noktada da manifestoları devinime geçiren araçlar olarak karşımıza ‘yapım ve yıkım’ çıkar. Mimari manifestoların yapım ve yıkım kurguları, içinde bulundukları dönem ve ideolojik arayışlarına göre değişmiştir. Kendi sistemlerini kurmak üzere eski kentleri temizleyerek yıkmayı öneren manifestolar kadar, geçicilik ve sürekli devinimi temel alan, dolayısıyla bunu mümkün kılan yapı bozum ve yaratan yıkımı kullanan mimari manifestolar da bulunur. Buna göre çalışmada farklı manifestolar yapım ve yıkım eylemleri üzerinden irdelenerek, bu iki aracın manifestoların kurulumunda ve kaybolduğu süreçte oynadıkları etkin rol açığa çıkarılmaya çalışılmıştır. Tez kapsamında manifestoların iz sürümünün yapılmasının yanında, yapımla birlikte yıkımın yeniyi üretme ve referans alma şekli olarak eskiyle girift ve sarmal ilişkiler kuran potansiyelinin keşfedilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Mimari manifestoların gözden yitme nedenlerinin anlaşılıp, manifesto tartışmalarının günümüz mimarlık platformuna dahil edilebilmesi için, onun yapıtaşlarını oluşturan bu radikal eylem-söylem araçlarının açılması önem taşımaktadır.

This study which origins from the “thinking and acting” motives of architecture, investigates the manifestos as the products that reveal of this dualistic structure of architecture. Architectural manifestos, unlike other architectural works and writings, don’t only involve with construction or narration, but also create a complex intersection, which interlaces the boundaries of discourse and practice. At this point ‘construction and destruction’ emerge as the tools that set manifestos into action. The construction and destruction perceptions of architectural manifestos have changed according to the era and ideological pursuits they existed. There exist architectural manifestos that propose to destroy old cities in order to establish their own system as well as those which are based upon temporality and mobility hence proposes reconstruction and creative destruction. In this study it is aimed to unveil the roles of construction and destruction acts in the process of shaping and disappearance of the manifestos by examining different manifestos through the two tools. In the thesis beside the inquisition of the manifestos, it is also aimed to discover the potentials that create complex and tangled relations between the destruction’s creating the new and referencing the old along with the construction. To unfold the radical tools of action-discourse that constitutes the foundation of the manifestos carries great importance in order to understand the reasons of the disappearance of the architectural manifestos and include manifesto debates into today’s architectural platforms.
