| dc.description.abstract | Bu çalışmada, 23 Şubat 1995 (to: 21:03:01.34; Mw=5.9), 09 Ekim 1996 (to: 13:10:50.4; Mw=6.8) ve 10 Ekim 1996 (to: 01:10:21.5; Mw=5.7) depremlerinin fay düzlemi çözümleri McCaffrey and Abers (1988) tarafından Nàbĕlek (1984) telesismik dalga şekli modelleme algoritmasının bir versiyonu olarak uyarladıkları SYN4 ve MT5 paket programları kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Bulunan çözümlere göre, 23 Şubat 1995 depremi, doğrultu atım bileşeni içeren ters faylanma, 09 Ekim 1996 depremi ise doğrultu atım bileşeni içeren normal faylanma ve 10 Ekim 1996 depremi , doğrultu atım bileşenine sahip ters faylanma göstermektedir. 23 Şubat 1995 depreminin doğrultu, dalım, kayma açısı, derinlik ve sismik moment (Mo) sırasıyla 15 5°, 75 5°, 73 5°, 14 2 km ve 6.96 1017 olarak saptanmıştır. 09 Ekim 1996 depreminin doğrultu açısı 38 7°, dalım açısı 16 5°, kayma açısı –161 7°, derinlik 12 2 km ve sismik moment (Mo) 2.083 1019 Nm. olarak belirlenmiştir. 10 Ekim 1996 depremi için ise doğrultu, dalım, kayma açısı, derinlik ve sismik moment (Mo) sırasıyla, 41 7°, 59 7°, 163 7°, 26 2 km, 3.651 10 17 olarak belirlenmiştir. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis is concerned with the seismotectonics of the Cyprus region, and consists of study of a moderate size earthquakes that occured on February 23, 1995 (to: 21:03:01.34; Mw=5.9), October 09, 1996 (to: 13:10:50.4; Mw=6.8) and October 10, 1996 (to: 01:10:21.5; Mw=5.7. February 23, 1995 and October 10, 1996 earthquakes indicate clear thrust and strike-slip mechanisms, but the earthquake of October 09, 1996 shows normal faulting mechanism with a significiant strike-slip component. The source parameters and uncertainties of the February 23, 1995 Cyprus earthquake obtained to be: strike 15° 5°, dip 75 5°, rake 73° 5, focal depth 14 2 km, and seismic moment Mo=6.96 x 1017 Nm. The source parameters and uncertainties of the October 09, 1996 Cyprus earthquake obtained to be: strike 38° 7°, dip 16 5°, rake -161° 7°; focal depth 12 2 km, and seismic moment Mo=2.083 x 1019 Nm. The source parameters and uncertainties of the October 10, 1996 Cyprus earthquake obtained to be: strike 41° 7°, dip 59 7°, rake 163° 7°; focal depth 26 2 km, and seismic moment Mo=3.651 x 1017 Nm. | |
