In this study, artificial intelligence is taken at theoretical level; the viewpoint of mathematics, physics, biology, psychology and philosophy about subject is examined. The approaches of mentioned sciences to the questions, “Is it possible to simulate the functions of human mind?” and “If so, what is the resemblance of it to its genuine?”, which are two main problems of AI, are exposed. The computational approach, artificial neural networks approach, quantum mechanical approach, and psychological approach, which are developed to model the functions of mind, are examined, and insufficiency and superiority of them at theoretical and practical level is put forward from the perspective of their proponents and opponents. The conclusion that the functions of human mind cannot be simulated fully is drawn. The ignorance of human in knowing himself, in order to make his model, is adduced as a proof of that conclusion, instead of the deficiency of the systems used for simulation.
