Kentsel Açık Alanların Kullanıcılar Tarafından Değerlendirilmesi: Beşiktaş Örneği

Abstract

Bu çalışmada amaç; kentsel açık alanların kullanıcılarca nasıl değerlendirildiğini irdelemek ve sonuçların bu tür alanların tasarımında kullanılabilirliğini değerlendirmektir. Bu amaçla, alan araştırması için seçilen Beşiktaş Merkez Bölgesi’nde anket uygulaması yapılmıştır. Kentsel açık alan kavramının tanımı, sınıflandırılması yapılmış ve tasarım kriterleri tanımlanmıştır. Kullanıcıların kentsel açık mekanları değerlendirmeleri ve kentsel açık alanlarla iligili araştırma yöntemleri kuramsal çerçevede anlatılmaktadır. Yapılan benzer araştırma örnekleri incelenmeye çalışılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına dayanarak ortaya çıkan ve çevre kalitesinin en önemli unsurları olarak karşımıza çıkan karakteristikler tanımlanmıştır. Beşiktaş İlçesi’nin konumu ve demografik yapısı, Beşiktaş Merkez Bölgesi’nin tarihsel gelişimi, bölgede yer alan kentsel açık alanların İstanbul için önemi, bölgenin tasarım kriterleri açısından değerlendirilmesi yapılmıştır. Beşiktaş Merkez Bölgesi’nde tespit edilen onüç kentsel açık alanda anket çalışması gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sonuçların değerlendirilmesinde SPSS istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, kullanıcılarca yapılan değerlendirmelerin tasarım açısından önemi ve tasarım kriterlerinin bu değerlendirmelere göre geliştirilmeleri gerekliliği vurgulanmaktadır

The purposes of this study are listed as; to determine how users evaluate urban open spaces, the urban open space user’s demands and evaluations and to determine the usefulness of results of evaluations for planning-design studies of urban open spaces. In that way, the use of open spaces and needs of user’s are being tried to determine by application of inquiry in Beşiktaş Central District which is chosen as a case study. The definitions and characteristics of urban open spaces, the classification of urban open spaces and the design criterias of urban open spaces were presented. The theoretical informations of how users evaluate urban open spaces are studied. Design models were presented. Also the case studies, researches and methodological researches of urban open spaces were explained. Then as a result of the researches of urban open spaces, the characteristics of urban open space’s quality were studied. The physical characteristics and the development of the population of Beşiktaş were presented. The general explanations of historical development of Beşiktaş Central District, the evaluations of urban open space’s importance for İstanbul, the evaluations of urban open spaces in Beşiktaş Central District according to design principles were presented. Questionnaire made in thirteen different urban open spaces in Beşiktaş Central District. After that the data entered into the computer. The program to be used is statistical package program SPSS. Finally, it is determined that, demands and evaluations of users are important in designing, planning and management of urban open spaces and design criterias should be developed according to user’s evaluations.
