Meydanlarda Su Ögesi Tasarımı: Sultanahmet Ve Beyazıt Meydanları İncelemesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, meydanlarda su ögesi tasarımı üzerinde durulmuş, tarihsel süreç içinde su ögesinin kentsel mekanlarda ve meydanlarda çeşitli amaçlarla kullanım şekilleri ortaya konmuş, Sultanahmet ve Beyazıt Meydanları’ndaki su ögeleri bu konular doğrultusunda detaylı olarak değerlendirilmiş, tasarım kriterleri ve karşılaşılan sorunlar belirlenmiştir. Sultanahmet ve Beyazıt Meydanlarındaki su ögeleri, örneklem yöntemi kullanılarak, alanların kullanım yoğunluğu ve kullanıcıların su elemanları ile ilgili düşünceleri ölçülmüş; kullanıcı istek ve tercihleri, karşılaştırmalı anket değerlendirmeleriyle tablo ve grafikler yardımıyla incelenmiştir. Meydanlarda kullanılan su ögeleri genel olarak değerlendirildiğinde; Sultanahmet Meydanı’nda bulunan dairesel havuz, mekanda görsel ve işitsel özellikleriyle odak obje konumundadır. Kullanıcılar tarafından da tasarım kriterleri ve görsel özelliği konularında çevreyle uyumlu bulunan havuz, aynı zamanda bakımlıdır. Beyazıt Meydanı’nda bulunan tarihî havuz ise, İstanbul un ilk ses ve ışık gösterileri oluşturan havuzu haline getirilmiştir. Büyük seyirci potansiyeline sahip bu havuzun yer seçimi ve çevre tasarımında yanlışlıklar yapılmıştır. Ayrıca havuzun ve çevresindeki bitkisel ögelerin bakımsız kalması ve havuz çevresinde bulunan çeşitli elemanlar havuzun görsel niteliğini azaltmaktadır. Çalışmada karşılaştırmalı anket değerlendirmelerinin sonuçları yorumlanmış, yapım, bakım ve işletim sorunları incelenmiş, çözüm önerileri ortaya konmuştur.

In this study, design of water features in squares are emphasized, utilization of water features in urban spaces and squares for various purposes from past to present are considered, within this framework water features in Sultanahmet and Beyazıt Squares are thoroughly evaluated, design criteria and problems encountered are resolved. The water features in Sultanahmet and Beyazıt Squares are examined by sampling method, intensity and thoughts of users are measured and user wishes and preferences are comparatively evaluated for the results of questionnaire using tables and graphs. The water features used in squares are generally evaluated; the circular fountain in Sultanahmet Square which has visual and auditory properties is the focal point in the area. In the square, fountain is in harmony with its design criteria and visual effects. The historical fountain in Beyazıt Square to be the first one in İstanbul, is converted to a fountain that displays light and auditory shows. Although the fountain has great visitor potential, because of its location and the mistakes in its design, the water display is not effective. The plants around the fountain are neglected and some elements decrease its visual properties. In the study the results of comperative questionnaire are discussed; construction, maintenance and management problems are examined, solution strategies are suggested.
