| dc.description.abstract | Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi (CBS), coğrafi varlıklara ait geometrik (konumsal) ve geometrik olmayan (tanımsal-özniteliksel) bilgilerin toplanması, bilgisayar ortamına aktarılıp depolanması, işlenmesi, analizi ve sunulması amacıyla biraraya getirilmiş bilgisayar donanım, yazılım, personel ve coğrafi verilerden oluşan bir bütündür. Verinin bir uygulama için uygunluğunun belirlenmesi önemlidir. Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinde veri kalitesinin bilinmesi ile kullanıcıların bu verileri hangi alanda kullanıp hangilerinde kullanamayacağına karar vermesi kolaylaşır. Veri kalitesi bilgisi 'metaveri' veya 'veri hakkında veriler' grubunda ele alınır. Bu çalışmada, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi kavramı, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemi bileşenleri, Coğrafi Bilgi Sistemlerinde veri kalitesinin önemi, coğrafi veri kalitesini belirleyen hata kaynakları, coğrafi veri kalitesini belirleyen faktörler, coğrafi veri kalitesi bileşenleri ve metaveri standardı ele alınmıştır. | |
| dc.description.abstract | A Geographic Information System (GIS) is a system composed of computer hardware & software, personnel and geographic data to collect, store, process, query, analyse and display geographic data. It is important to determine the suitability of data for an application. The knowledge of data quality in GIS increases the users' confidence in the data. By knowing data quality in GIS, the users can decide the suitability of the data to their aim. Data quality information is " metadata" or "data about data". In this study, conception of GIS, components of GIS, data quality in GIS and importance of data quality, error sources defining geographic data quality, factors defining geographic data quality, components of geographic data quality and metadata standard are investigated. | |
