Abstract

Eski çağlardan beri insanlar planlama ve proje yönetimini uygulayagelmişlerdir. Öyleki; nerede ve ne zamanda medeniyet boy gösterdiyse, tamamlanacak projeler; bina inşaatı, yol yapımı; herzaman olmuştur. Şuanda elimizde bulunan ileri araçlar, teknolojiler ve metodlar olmadan insanlar zaman çizelgeleri, malzeme ve kaynak atamaları ile risklerin azaltılmasını gerçekleştirmişlerdir. Zaman geçtikçe, insanlar farkına vardılarki bütçe kontrolü, zaman çizelgesinin geliştirilmesi, kaynak tedariği ve risk yönetimi teknikleri çok çeşitli projelere uygulanabilir. Bu ilk fikirler, şuanda "modern proje yönetimi" olarak bildiğimiz yönetim tekniklerinin ilk habercileri olmuştur. Proje yönetimi; iş kalemlerinin planlanmasını ve atlanması muhtemel işlerin miktarının azaltılmasını sağlayarak organizasyonlara müşterilerin ihtiyaçlarını karşılama konusunda yardımcı olur. Üçüncü bölümde; örnek bir çalışma özelliğinde proje yönetim sisteminin bir inşaat firmasının organizasyonundaki uygulanması anlatılmıştır. Bu bölümün ilk kısmında; şirket organizasyonu hakkında genel bir bakış sergilenmiştir. Bölümün ikinci kısmında; proje yönetimiyle ilgili organizasyon elemanlarının sorumlulukları sunulmuştur. Üçüncü kısmında ise; proje yönetimi ve planlama departmanının sorumlulukları detaylı olarak gösterilmiştir. Dördüncü bölümde ise yapılan çalışmanın içeriğiyle ilgili genel bir değerlendirme yapılmıştır.

People have been planning and managing projects since the dawn of time. Whenever and wherever civilizations took root, there were projects to manage: buildings to erect, roads to pave. Without the advanced tools, techniques and methodologies we have today, people created project timelines, located materials and resources and weighed the risks involved. Over time, people realized that the techniques for cost control, timeline development, resource procurement and risk management were applicable to a wide range of projects. These early ideas were the precursors to a set of management techniques we now know as "modern project management." Project management helps organizations meet their customers' needs by planning tasks and reducing the number of tasks that could potentially be forgotten. Project management ensures that available resources are used in the most effective and efficient manner. This essay provides a basic reference for anyone interested in the profession of project management. In the first chapter of the essay; the aim, scope and importance of the project management is described briefly. In the second chapter; the purpose is to provide necessary background information about the project management profession. The concept of project management and its elements are clarified, the coordination and works involving the process are explained. vu In the third chapter, providing an understanding of the practice of the profession through an organization process aligned to the project management application in an engineering company is objected. At the first part of this chapter; a global view is displayed about the organization as an example. At the second part of this chapter; the responsibilities of the elements of the organization related to the project management are introduced. At the third part; a detailed presentation about the responsibilities of the project management and planning department are given. In the fourth chapter, a brief evaluation of the content of the work is given.
