Mustafapaşa - Haralambos Sultanidis Evi Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Mustafapaşa’da yer alan 1892 tarihli Haralambos Sultanidis Evi olarak bilinen Rum evi bu çalışmada konu edilmektedir. Konağın tarihine ve fiziki yapısına ait araştırmalarla, yerel dokusu büyük oranda korunmuş olan Mustapaşa kasabasının önemli mimari değerlerinden biri olan bu konağın, gelecek nesillere aktarılmasını sağlayacak bilgileri arşivlemek ve koruma-onarım yöntemlerini belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Kapadokya bölgesine ait fiziksel yapıya dair bilgiler toplanmış, bölgenin tarih boyunca sosyal gelişimi irdelenmiştir. Kapadokya genelinden Mustafapaşa birimine odaklanılmış, eski adıyla Sinasos olarak bilinen kasabanın geçmişine, mimari mirasına, gelenksel yaşamına dair araştırmalar yapılmıştır. Mustafapaşa’da gelişmiş olan geleneksel yaşam tarzının konutlar ve mekanlar üzerindeki etkileri de araştırmaya katılmıştır. Mustafapaşa’da yer alan Haralambos Sultanidis evine ait ulaşılabilinen belgeler çalışma bünyesinde toplanmış, ve yapının güncel durumu belgelenmiştir. Elde edilen belgeler değerlendirilerek yapının restitüsyonuna yönelik teoriler geliştirilmiştir. Yapının strüktürel gereksinimleri, malzeme sorunları, ve kullanıcı ihtiyaçları değerlendirilerek restorasyon projesi hazırlanmıştır.

Harlambos Sultanidis House, built in 1982, located in Mustafapaşa has been presented as the subject of this thesis. Thesis aims to collect data on the history and the physical aspects of the house which is one of the uniqe structures of the well preserved setting of Mustafapaşa, and to archive and avail such information to future generations, and to determine necessary conservation and restoration approaches. Research firstly focuses on Cappadocia region, and presents data on the physical setting and discusses social dynamics of the region throughout history. The research then concentrates on Mustafapaşa, collecting data on the history, architectural heritage and traditional lifestyles of the area previously known as Sinasos. The corrolation between traditional lifestyle and living spaces are also discussed. Documents relevant to the house were collected, and the structure was fully documented both by survey drawings and photographs. These data are then used for understanding the damages endured by the structure, determining later additions and reasons for deterioration. Any available data concerning Haralambos Sultanidis House has been collected and documented, and by their light a restitution project has been prepared. Structural needs, material decay problems, and user needs have been presented with solutions in the restoration project.
