dc.description.abstract This study was prepared in a post-graduate level to show the role of phonetics in Musical education by pertaining to Turkish Folk Music area in Istanbul Technical University, Social Science Institute, Musical Art Branch. Sound and it' si companents, sound characteristics, and hearing sand organs and their functions are most prominent application of phonetics, subjects in this study. There are also informations about. By the way, some interviews were arranged and discussed with experts to clarify the chaos of singing and voice concepts and to replace them with brief expressions. There are observations, which are fained by the patients who apply to Istanbul University, Çapa Medical Faculty Auditory canals, nose, throat Main Science Branch, Phonetics Dept. are taking place in this study. As I prepared this thesis for my post graduate studies and collected mony informations about it I believe that this subject has to be researched by more details. Existing chaos of musical concepts are obstacle for improving studies from objective view. If the meaning of education is improving people than musical education is improving musical ability in that mean.. The scientists who take Musical education as being necessary, they gave importance to this training before school age and believed socialisation is provided better with musical education. VII . Basically applications in that area played on important role in improving brain functions of children and their personal characteristics. The person who manage his or her life positevely or successfully, mostly take his or her inspiration from music.. More or less every person has a musical ability. To be able to measure musical ability is important a improving this. There are many musical ability tests on records. Subjects are listened these records and they are wanted to differ voices. The subjects who passed from these ability tests are appraised on musical compherension base. For example in a test of differing high and deep woices, experimenter's explanation to subject is like that" You will hear different high and deep 2 voices then please emphasize that is secon voice higher than first voice. According to Suziki Child + Mother + teacher are important one by one and together. Swiss composer and educator Emile Jacques Dalcioze, improved method of rhythmic qymnastics. He provided speedy and regular rhytmic currency between the brain and the body. He opened te new horizon in musical education. First step must be before school age and especially kindergarten. They must be given ear and voice education and inoculated musical pleasure and created musical comprehension and ability. VIII Musical education before school must be executed with the plastic arts. Babies in normal evaluation, after 8 th month give an active reaction against to vivacious musical songs. We see Quality of reaction in 9 th month. We see that stimulative effect of music is realised and retorted between the age of 1 or 2. A child can establish relation between a voice and a picture or between a motion and another voice. Music can show different effects in terms of thinkg system of differen children. In any may musical improvement is made more Quickly after this age. It is observed that children between age of 2 or 3 are started to listem music and to wave their hands in tune. It is seen that learning is easier in that age and short sangs can be tought. Her or she uses musical potential to learn many words by the songs. Children between age of 3 or 4 can make voices by theirselves and randomly. He or She generally can not go with rhythim and they are successfull in Quick beats rather thn slow beats. Her or she make voices by the help of his or her finger in piano. He or she can realise high and low voices. A child between the age of 4 or 5, can arrange voices in a story. He or she can repeat easy melodies and comply with their motions to basic beats. They can applicate easy rhythmic examples but because of coordination is not enough they can make mistakes. Children between age of 5 or 6 have ability to play musical instrument also have words to argue musical subject. Rhytym concept is too important for before school age child cause this concept helps to get personality for childrem. Rhythym concept and auto-control is related with each other. IX All living and non-living things in the nature are the source of an excellent harmony. Each have exclusive colors and smells. In fact the man aims to reach this natural line with his goal of naturalism. All actions in the nature are the sources of sound. That is, each thing which moves also makes sound. It would be a great mistake to consider non-existent the sounds which we cannot hear as such sounds may or may not be in the range of sensitivity of the human being. The man cannot hear the sounds with a frequency lower than 16 p/s. Dogs and horses, however, may hear such sounds existing in the nature. Considering that all things make a sound in the universe, we may deduce that the earth may make a sound by rotating around itsel. But, we assume such sound as non existent as it is under the frequency that man can sense. Thanks to not hearing everything around us, as it would be a disaster if we were able to do it. The sound of a machine, peeling of a paper, deflating of a ballon, warning sound of a vessel, horn of a car, roaring of animals are example to such noises. The most important one of those sound resources is human's voice. Human's voice is the most excellent instrument. It is a present of the nature to the human being provided, however, it should be used correctly and superbly. Human's voice is the only means to communicate and agree with others as well as it may be used for many other purposes, it enthusiasts the listener when used correctly. But, what if it is not used correctly? It disturbs both the singer and the listener. Taking into account that man has such an excellent instrument, do not we deserve to preserve it? Only science can enable man to use his sound correctly to enthusiast listeners, to preserve it thoughout his life. As a result of those facts, musical education should be considered as a necessity. Who need to use his/her voice constantly? .
