Adana Dr. S. Haluk Uygur Evi Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Bu tez çalışmasında; Adana ili, Seyhan ilçesi, Türkocağı mahallesi, 124 ada, 1 parselde yer alan geleneksel konut belgelenmiş ve incelenmiştir. Dr. S. Haluk Uygur Evi, 1929 yılında inşa edilmiş iki katlı kârgir bir yapı olup, kare planlı bir ana kütle ile yapının batı duvarına bitişik olarak yapılmış bir ıslak hacim bölümünden meydana gelmektedir. Yapının üzerinde yer aldığı parsel, doğu ve güney cephelerinde yola bitişik olarak konumlandırılmıştır. Yapının kuzeyinde kendi bahçesi, batı yönünde ise başka bir konut parseli yer almaktadır. Yapının en gösterişli cephesi, Seyhan Nehri manzarasına hakim olacak şekilde konumlandırılmış olan doğu cephesidir. Burada, giriş bölümü niş şeklinde içe doğru çekilmiş ve giriş kapısına ulaşmak için on basamaklı mermer bir merdiven yapılmıştır. Yaratılan bu mekan, simetrik bir düzene sahip olan doğu cephesinin en önemli elemanı sayılan bir sivri kemerle vurgulanmıştır. Güney cephesi, büyük ölçüde doğu cephesindeki bezemelere sahip bir cephe olmakla birlikte simetrik bir düzene sahip değildir. Geleneksel konutun yer aldığı parselin iki yolun kesiştiği noktada konumlanması da yapının şekillenmesinde rol oynayan önemli bir etken olmuştur. Yapının batı ve kuzey cephelerinin, yola cephe vermemeleri sebebiyle, diğer iki cepheye oranla oldukça sade olması da bunun doğal bir sonucudur. Bu tezin amacı; geleneksel dokusunu büyük ölçüde kaybetmiş olan Adana’da, sınırlı sayıdaki tarihi sivil mimarlık örneklerinden biri olan Dr. S. Haluk Uygur Evi’nin, detaylı bir şekilde belgelenmesi ve sahip olduğu değerleri kaybetmeden korunmasının sağlanmasıdır. Böylece 27 Haziran 1998’de yaşanan Ceyhan depremi sırasında büyük hasar gören bu yapı, özelliklerine uygun yeniden kullanımını içeren restorasyon projesinin de hazırlanmasıyla varlığını sürdürebilecektir.

In this thesis, a traditional house that is located in Türkocağı quarter in Seyhan district in Adana, has been surveyed and documented. Dr. S. Haluk Uygur House is a two storied, masonry construction built in 1929. It consists of a square shaped main mass and a bathroom and lavatory part adjacent to the west side of the building. The plot, where the house is located is oriented in both south and east directions adjacent to the road. On the north side the house has its own garden, on the west side there is another building plot. The most remarkable façade of this building is the symmetrical eastern façade that is oriented towards the Seyhan River. In this part, the entrance is recessed like a niche and there is a marble stair with ten steps leading to the entrance door. This space is emphasized by a pointed arch that can be considered as the most important element of the east elevation. Although the south façade has some decorative elements like the east side, it does not have a symmetrical order. The location of the plot of this house at the intersection point of two streets is an important factor affecting the aspect of the façades. As a result of this, the west and north façades of the building are plainer than the other two façades because they are not visible from the street. The aim of this thesis is to document Dr. S. Haluk Uygur House, and to prepare a restoration project that will help to preserve one of the significant historical buildings of Adana that could survive the catastrophic earthquake of 27 June 1998 with great damage.
