Poyraz Kalesi Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

18. yy.da İstanbul Boğazı’nın kuzeyinden gelecek Rus tehlikesi sebebiyle inşa edilen birçok kale ve tabyadan bir tanesi de Poyraz Kalesi’dir. Karadeniz Boğazı’nın savunmasının ön plana çıktığı bir dönemde inşa edilen Kale, Garipçe Kalesi ile karşılıklı bir konumda, Baron de Tott’un tasarımıyla inşa edilmiştir. Yapı, günümüzde terk edilmiş durumda ve kontrolsüz ziyaretçi girişine açıktır. Poyraz Kalesi’nin yerinde yapılan ölçüm çalışmaları ve sistematik fotoğraflanmasının ardından çizilen rölövesi üzerinden hasar ve malzeme analizleri yapılmıştır. Restitüsyon çalışması için ise Osmanlı Arşiv Belgeleri, eski Boğaziçi haritaları, Kale’nin eski çizimleri ve rölöveleri ile eski gravür ve fotoğraflarından yararlanılmıştır. Elde edilen verilere göre restitüsyon çizimlerine gözcü kuleleri, sancak kulesi, eksik top atış delikleri, kışlak binaları, giriş duvarı, kapısı ve hendek eklenmiştir. Restorasyon projesi, işlev önerisi ve restorasyon müdahalelerini içermektedir. Poyraz Kalesi’nin deniz savunması konusunda sergiler içeren bir müze olması önerilmiştir. Restorasyon müdahaleleri ise çalışmanın başında tespit edilmiş olan hasar analizlerinin çözülmesini amaçlamaktadır. Yapılacak restorasyon uygulaması ile Kale’nin, İstanbul Boğazı’nda bulunan diğer savunma yapılarına örnek olacak biçimde özenli bir çalışmayla kamu kullanımına açılması gerekmektedir.

Poyraz Fort is one of the fortifications built on Bosphorus for the Russian threat from the north of the Istanbul Strait. The fort, which was built in a period when the defense of the Blacksea Strait came to fore, was designed by Baron de Tott. Garipçe and Poyraz Fort were built on each side on the Anatolian and Rumelian sides of the Bosphorus. The building is abondoned and open for visits in an uncontrolled manner. Damage and materials analyses were conducted on the drawing of the building survey after the measurement study in situ and taking systematic photographs of the building. Documents from the Ottoman Archives, old maps of the Bosphorus, old drawings, old surveys, old gravures and photographs of the fort are used for the restitution study. Watch tower, flag tower, missing embrasures, winter quarters, entrance wall, moat and timber bridge at the entrance were drawn according to the restitution study. The restoration project includes the proposal of the function and the restoration interventions. It was proposed to use the fort as a museum which includes exhibitions about the Naval Defenses. Restoration interventions are aimed to solve the damage problems which were determined in the beginning of the study. Poyraz Fort must be opened to public use, following restoration work conducted as carefully as possible so as to set an example for the other fortifications along the Bosphorus.
