Bulgaristan Pomorie (ahyolu) Kentsel Doku Koruma Önerisi

Abstract

Pomorie, ulaşılan kaynaklara göre kuruluşu M.Ö. 5.-4. yüzyıllara kadar giden, Bulgaristan’da, Batı Karadeniz kıyısında konumlanmış bir yarımada yerleşimidir. Günümüzdeki fiziksel durumu ve mimari mirası, tarih boyunca farklı kültürlerin etkisinde taşıdığı sürekli önemi yansıtmaktan uzaktır. Bununla birlikte, Pomorie’de önemli sayıda ve değerde tescilli arkeolojik ve mimari eser de bulunmaktadır. M.Ö. 5.-4.yüzyıllarda Yunan topluluklarından birinin (Sozopol) kolonisi olarak ‘‘Anchialos’’ adıyla kurulmuş, 1934’te adı ‘‘Pomorie’ olarak değiştirilmiştir. Zamanla Roma, Bizans, Bulgar ve Osmanlı yönetiminde kalmıştır. Bu kültürlerin, yerleşimin fiziksel dokusuna yansımasıyla oluşan mimari zenginliğin neredeyse tümü, 1906’da çıkan büyük yangında önemli ölçüde yok olmuştur. Kentin çok katmanlı geçmişi boyunca tarihi kentsel dokusunun geçirdiği tüm değişim ancak kapsamlı bir arkeolojik ve mimari çalışma sonucu ortaya konabilir. Bu tezde, 19.yy sonu 20.yy başına ait görsel verilerden hareketle ve bunları günümüzdekilerle karşılaştırarak kentin tarihsel dokusunun değişimini ve buna ilişkin koruma önerilerini ele alınmıştır. Pomorie’nin sahip olduğu ve korunması gereken, ancak şu anda gereken ilgiyi göremeyen mimari ve kentsel değerlerinin, kentte nispeten değer bulan arkeolojik, dini mimari değerlerle, kentin geçmişinden bazı referanslarla, gelişmeye devam eden turizm sektörü ile (tatil turizmi ve sağlık turizmi) ve kentin tarımsal, endüstriyel potansiyeli birlikte ele alınması durumunda hem kentin tarih ve kültür turizmine hem de sosyal yaşamına önemli bir ivme katacağı öngörülmüştür. Böylelikle kentin sahip olduğu farklı potansiyeller değerlendirilerek yaşatılacak ve kent, tarihteki çok yönlü yapısını mümkün olduğunca devam ettirebilmiş olacaktır.

Pomorie is located in Bulgaria, on a peninsula at west coast of Black Sea whose foundation goes back to 5.-4. century BC according to the reached clues. The current physical condition and architectural heritage of the town is however far away from reflecting the permanent importance the town had in the era of several civilizations in the past. Nevertheless, Pomorie still has an important quantity of listed archeological and architectural heritage. It was founded as a Greek colony of the area in 5.-4. century BC and was called ‘‘Anchialos’’ untill its name was replaced with ‘‘Pomorie’’ in 1934. Anchialos had been directed under Roman, Byzantian, Bulgarian and Ottoman rules chronologically. Almost the whole of the architectural heritage which was created by those civilizations in time was fired during the big fire in 1906. The all alteration that took place in the life of the town may be explained by detailed archeological and architectural investigations. This master thesis is much more focused on alteration of the historical part of Pomorie and conservation proposals depending on documents from late 19th century and early 20th century. The cultural heritage of Pomorie that has to be protected even it is not appreciated well today, may be part of some other projects related with the cultural and historical past of the town besides holiday tourism and health tourism which has popularity today. In this way, cultural heritage will have the chance to take part in social life of the town. Taking into account of the different potentials of the town and considering them with its cultural heritage will make the town regain its several features it has had during its past.
