Mevcut Belgeler Işığında Süleymaniye Külliyesinin Yapım Süreci

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Süleymaniye külliyesi inşaat defterleri temel alınarak, ulaşılabilen mevcut belgeler ile yapısal veriler arasında kurulan ilişkiler yardımıyla, Osmanlı yapı teknolojisinin bu dönemine ilişkin bilgiler değerlendirilmeye çalışılmıştır. Karşılaşılan temel sorun, eldeki mevcut belgelerin yalnızca yapı malzemesi ve işgücü alımlarına yönelik giderlerin belgelendiği inşaat defterleri olmasıdır. Tez, giriş, betimleme, yapı malzemesi, ekipler ve örgütlenme, süreç, sonuç ve değerlendirme olmak üzere altı bölümden oluşmaktadır. Çalışmada, konuya ilişkin Osmanlı yapı teknolojisi tarihi araştırmaları özetlenerek külliye kapsamındaki sıbyan mektebi, darülkurra (?), darülhadis, medrese (toplam dört adet), tıp medresesi, bimarhane, matbah, tabhane, hamam, Hürrem türbesi, Kanuni türbesi, dükkan dizileri ve özellikle belgelerde yoğun olarak geçen caminin yapısal ve mekansal betimlemeleri yapılmıştır. Mevcut belgeler taranarak, külliye yapımında kullanılan geleneksel yapı malzemeleri saptanmış, kaynakları, kullanım alanları, kullanım miktarları, boyutları, bedelleri, alındığı yıl, kullanıldığı yapı ve aşama ortaya konmuştur. Belgelerde ağırlık camiye verildiğinden, inceleme daha çok Süleymaniye camisi üzerinde yoğunlaştırılmıştır.

The aim of this study is to explore the information on the process of the Ottoman construction technology based on the construction register of the Süleymaniye complex through the correlation of the available documents and the structural data. The main problem is that the available documents are generally the accounting records for the new construction or the intervention works carried out showing the expenses related to workers or purchased materials. This thesis is composed of six separate chapters as; introduction, description, the construction materials, teams and organization, the construction process and the conclusion. In the study, historical studies about the Ottoman construction technology are summarized. With the help of structural and spatial description of the Süleymaniye Complex including the primary school, school of Kor’an readers, school of theology, madrassah -four in total-, school of medicine, hospital, kitchen, hospice, Turkish bath, the tomb of Hürrem, the tomb of Kanuni and the rows of shops, the foundings that are verified through documentary correlations are given. The traditional building materials used for the construction of the complex, are determined through the research of the available documents including the characteristics, from where they were purchased, fields of use, purchase quantity, dimensions and costs and purchase year, their obtaining and transporting processes, as well as the buildings they were used for are evaluated in relation to the phase of the construction. In the thesis, the emphasis has been more on the mosque since most of the available documents are about the Süleymaniye mosque.
