Bir Yaratıcı Sektör Olarak Babıali Basın Yayın Kümesinin Desantralizasyonu Ve Sonuçları

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, yaratıcılık kavramı altında yaratıcı sektörlerden medyanın incelenerek, dünyadaki yeni eğilimlerle gelişmekte olan çeşitli medya kümelenmeleri araştırılmıştır. Tarihi ve geleneksel bir medya kümesi olarak incelenen Istanbul Babıali’de 1940’lardan itibaren gelişmiş olan basın yayın kümesinin alanda bulunan sanayinin desantralizasyonu ile beraber kent çeperine taşınmasının sonuçları irdelenerek ortaya konmuştur. Yaratıcı sektörlerin mekânsal ihtiyaçları belirlenerek Babıali alanında taşınma öncesinde çalışmış kişilerle bir dizi görüşme yapılmış ve gerek terkedilen bu alanla ilgili düşünceler, gerek kent çeperinde geçirilen yaklaşık yirmi yıllık süreç değerlendirilerek ortaya konmuş, Babıali alanında 150 yıldan fazla mevcudiyet göstermiş bu özel kümenin ardında hemen hemen hiç iz bırakmadan desantralize edilmiş olmasının kent için bir kayıp olup olmadığı sorusuna cevap aranmıştır.

The aim of this thesis is to understand the concept of creative city and examine creative media clusters. Among the creative industries media with a fundamental redefinition with its new technology based transformation and the new communication infrastructure shows a spatial transition. Traditional media supply, production and distribution process and methods are being restructured. Intentionally examining the cluster concept and the media clusters the main purpose is to observe the very unique development in 19th and 20th century in Istanbul, Babıali, so called the capital city of Turkish media. To establish the spatial and environmental demand for a creative ecology a set of conversations are hold with the former journalists, publishers, editors or writers who used to work in Babıali for understanding the consequences after the decentralization of the whole historical and traditional printing and publishing sector with the other industry to the periphery of the city.
