Giresun Rum Erkek Okulu Restorasyon Projesi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Giresun Merkez’de Çınarlar Mahallesi’nde yer alan Giresun Rum Erkek Okulu konu alınmıştır. Çalışmada yapının mevcut durumunun belgelenmesi, yapının ve bulunduğu çevrenin tarihsel gelişim sürecinin araştırılması ve korunmasına yönelik müdahalelerin belirlenmesi hedeflenmiştir. Birinci bölümde çalışmanın amacı ve çeşitli aşamalarında kullanılan yöntemler anlatılmıştır. İkinci bölümde Giresun ilinin tarihi ile ilgili kısaca bilgi verilmiştir. Üçüncü bölümde Giresun Rum Erkek Okulu’nun içinde bulunduğu Zeytinlik Mahallesi ile Çınarlar Mahallesi’nin tarihi, sosyo-ekonomik ve mimari özellikleri anlatılmış, bölgedeki bazı anıtsal yapılar ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın dördüncü bölümünde yapının bulunduğu bölge ve yapının tarihçesi incelenmiş yapının genel bir tanımı yapıldıktan sonra tüm mekânları, cepheleri, yapı elemanları, mimari öğeleri ve yapıdaki bozulmalar detaylı bir şekilde anlatılmıştır. Beşinci bölümde restitüsyon çalışması konu alınmıştır. Bu çalışmada ilk önce restitüsyona ışık tutan belgeler incelenmiş, daha sonra Giresun Rum Erkek Okulu’na benzer yapılar ele alınmıştır. Bu belgeler ve yapılar incelenerek restitüsyon sorunlarına cevap aranmış, elde edilen bilgiler doğrultusunda plan, cephe, vaziyet planı restitüsyon projeleri hazırlanmıştır. Altıncı bölümde restorasyon çalışması konu alınmıştır. Ayrıca yapıda yapılması gereken onarımlara ilişkin müdahaleler tespit edilerek rapor edilmiştir. Tüm bu kaynak araştırmaları, ölçümler ve çizimler sonucunda yapının rölöve, restitüsyon ve restorasyon projeleri hazırlanmıştır. Yapılan tüm çalışmalar sonuç kısmında değerlendirilmiştir.

In this thesis, Giresun Greek School for Boys, located in Çınarlar district in Giresun, Merkez is situated and documented. Besides documenting the existing situation, it is aimed to discuss the historical evolution process and to propose interventions for the conservation of the building. In the first section of the study, the aim and the methods of the study have been described. In the second section Giresun’s history is examined. In the third section, historical, social, economical, architectural characteristics of Zeytinlik and Çınarlar districts, and some monumental buildings are examined. In the fourth part of the thesis the location and the history of the structure are exposed. Also in this part of the thesis all spaces, elevations, deteriorations, architectural and structural elements are described. In the fifth section similar school buildings in Giresun and İstanbul are investigated in order to solve restitution problems of the school. The data provided by old photos and other documents served as evidences in the preparation of the restitution project. The restoration project is handled in the sixth part. Also repairs are determined and the interventions have been reported. As a result of all the researches, measurements and drawings the surveys, restitution and restoration projects were prepared. In the final part of the study all the results are evaluated.
