Mimari Melezlik: Yerelin Kendini “yeni”den Tanımlaması

Abstract

Mimari melezlik son yıllarda çok tartışılan bir durum olarak farklı çevrelerce farklı şekillerde değerlendirilmektedir. Bu çalışma kapsamında, mimari melezlik ile ilgili bir bakış açısı geliştirilmesi hedeflenmektedir. Mimari melezliği anlayabilmek için öncelikle kavram olarak melezliğin ve bu kavramla yakın ilişkide olan diğer kavramların tanınması gerekmektedir. Bu nedenle, belirli kavramların incelenmesi ile konuya giriş yapılmaktadır. Mimarlıkta ve mimarlıkla ilişkili diğer disiplinlerdeki, özellikle kültürel alandaki melezlik tartışmaları değerlendirilerek araştırma için bir kavramsal çerçeve oluşturulmaktadır. Melezliğin üretken potansiyellere sahip olduğunu görmek ve olumlamak için değerlendirildiği ortam önemlidir. Bu değerlendirmelerin tüm önyargılardan bağımsız olan bir “Üçüncü Mekan’da” yapıldığı düşünülmektedir. Mimaride melezlik son derece kapsamlı bir üst başlık olmaktadır ve birçok durum “melez” olarak tanımlanabilmektedir. Öncelikle genel olarak melezliğin mimaride nasıl konumlandığı incelenip, ardından araştırma kapsamındaki melezliğin değerlendirmesi yapılmaktadır. Bu kapsam ise oluşturulmuş olan kavramsal çerçeve içerisindeki tartışmalar ve mimariye yansımaları ile belirlenmiştir. Melezliğin temelinde etkileşimler yatmaktadır. Dolayısıyla ilişkiler büyük önem taşımaktadır. Araştırma kapsamındaki melezliği de “yerel” ile “yeni”nin karşılaşması oluşturmaktadır. Yerel, yere ait olanın yanı sıra, kendi, öz ve alışılmış olanı da simgelemektedir. Yeni ise yerelin ötekisi olmaktadır. Melezlik bu iki farklı durumun bir araya gelerek oluşturdukları hem sonuç ürünü hem de bu oluşumun sürecini temsil etmektedir. Kültürel melezliklerin inşa olduğu söylemsel Üçüncü Mekan, mimaride yapıların üzerinde inşa olduğu “Yer” ile bağdaştırılıp somutlaştırılmaktadır. Melezliğin dinamikleri olan yer, yerel, yeni kavramları, bu kavramların birbiriyle karşılaşmaları; bunun sonucunda birbirlerini dönüştürmeleri ve alacakları yeni konumları tanımlanıp örnekler üzerinden tartışılmaktadır.Architectural hybridity, recently as being a much debated issue, is considered differently by different profiles. Within the context of this research, it is aimed at improving a point of view regarding the architectural hybridity. In order to comprehend architectural hybridity, primarily the hybridity concept and the other concepts related with hybridity should be defined. Thus, an introductory to the research will be provided by the examination of certain concepts. The critical approaches for hybridity in architecture and the other disciplines related to architecture, especially in cultural studies will be evaluated in order to establish the theoretical framework of the research. The space in which the hybridity is evaluated is crucial to expose the productive potential and affirmation of the concept. It is considered that these evaluations are carried out in a “Thirdspace”, a narrative space that is independent from all the prejudges and it encourages to think differently. Hybridity in architecture is such a broad main title that many situations can be defined as “hybrid”. First of all, the situation of hybridity in architecture will be analyzed generally, after then the evaluation of the hybridity in the scope of the research will be carried out. The scope is determined by the discussions that have been done within the theoretical concept and by their reflections on architecture. Interactions lie behind the hybridity. Hence, the interactions carry a significant role. Within the scope of the research, the hybridity is formed by the “local” and the “new” that come together. Local symbolizes belonging to the place, as well as the essence, the self and the accustomed situations. And, new is defined as the “other” of the local. Hybridity symbolizes both the situation and the end product created by the hybridization and the hybridization process itself. The discursive concept of Thirdspace, where the cultural hybridity is built, is objectified associated with “place” in architecture on which the building is constructed. The dynamics of hybridity such as place, local and new and the situation in which these concepts come together; hence the transforming of these concepts each other the definition of the new situations will be defined and discussed by the aid of these situations. As a result; the concept of hybridity and its expansions will be evaluated generally and will be discussed with respect to the attitude exhibited at the whole of the research.
