The thesis was completed in two parts. In the first part, a Kansei Engineering study was carried out using the Turkish traditional tulip-shaped tea glass which was chosen as a widely used and culturally valued product for Turkish people. In the second part, the results of the Kansei Engineering study were presented to one of the two groups of novice designers in an experimental setup to investigate the following two research questions: "What is the role of using the results of Kansei Engineering methodology on the products of novice designers regarding the perceived quality in terms of user preferences?" and "How do the design processes of novice designers differ when they are exposed to the results of the Kansei Engineering methodology?".
