Cryptography

Abstract

Vast amounts of digital data are now gathered and stored in large computer data bases and transmitted between the computers and terminal devices linked together in complex communications networks. Without appropriate safeguards, these data are susceptible to interception during transmition,or may be physically removed or copied while in storage. Among the security measures that should be considered is cryptography, which embraces methods for rendering data unintelligible to unauthorized parties. Description of cryptology and public-secret key algorithm ideas are given in this thesis with software and hardware implementation examples. These are PC (Personal Computer) implementation of DES algorithm by using C language, TMS320C20 implementation of DES algorithm by using TMS320C20 assembler language, PC implementation of RSA algorithm by using C language and interface of RSA proccessor for PC. A new algorithm is also examined by using Cellular Neural Network.
