An Expert System For Auditing Six Sigma Project Implementations

Abstract

Bu çalışmada geliştirilen prototip Uzman Sistem (EDeSis), Altı Sigma uygulamalarındaki faz geçiş toplantıları vasıtasıyla projenin finansal ve operasyonel olarak hedeflendiği şekilde yürütüldüğünü yargılamak için finansal temsilciye karar desteği sağlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Prototip sistem, EDeSis Altı Sigma programında uzman ve yöneticilerin sezgisel ve bilgi birikimlerinin yeni finansal temsilcilere aktarılması ve finansal temsilcilerin iyi planlanmış ve standartlaşmış prosedürlerle eğitilmesini sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. Böylece iş birimi finansal temsilcisinin eğitimi yoluyla Altı Sigma projesinin uygulanmasının denetimi konularında standardın yükseltilmesi sağlanacaktır. Geliştirilen karar destek sistemi istenilen zaman ve düşük maliyetle kararın kalitesini iyileştirebilir. Bahse konu projelere uygulanan uzman karar destek sistemi EDeSis, işletme yönetimlerin ihtiyacı olan tarafsız bir değerlendirme aracı olarak iç denetim alanına katkı sağlamıştır. Uygulama sonuçları, aynı zamanda literatürde yer alan, daha standart bir Altı Sigma uygulaması formatı yaratılması çalışmalarına destek olmuştur.

In this study, a prototype expert system, called Expert Decision Support System for Six Sigma implementation (EDeSis), was developed which aims to help financial representatives through gateways to judge if the project is on track financially and operationally. The prototype system is aimed to transfer the scarce expertise including heuristics and knowledge of the experts and managers on Six Sigma programs by allowing the new financial representatives to be trained in a well structured and standardized manner. This will raise the standards in training of business unit financial representatives and in auditing the success of the implementation of Six Sigma projects by them. The proposed decision support system may also improve the decision quality with timeliness and low cost. By applying to the above mentioned projects, EDeSis provided an objective tool for the management to be sure about the effectiveness of the project implementations. The application results proved the importance of this study by helping to a much structured Six Sigma implementations which are argued and criticized heavily on the literature.
