Abstract
This symposium is an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary event and it is the first time organized by the Graduate School of Istanbul Technical University. Despite the first symposium, over 400 manuscripts had been loaded to the system and got chance to be in the program. A new tradition has been started in ITU. As known that Istanbul Technical University, which is approaching its 250th anniversary, is one of the oldest technical universities in the world and the first technical university in Turkey, is identified with its engineering and architectural education. Organizing International Graduate Symposium has been started approximately 10 months before and it was really very hard for us to manage processes related with this event. One of the main problems is to connect and collect different disciplinaries at one symposium. However, one of the main advantages of this multidisciplinary approach is to understanding scientific approaches at different perspectives. I hope researches at different disciplinaries would understand to each other by high level scientific discussion and sharing experiences with information.
