Stratejik Düşüncelerin Bilişsel Haritalar Kullanarak Modellenmesi Ve Analiz Edilmesi

Abstract

Birçok haritalama yaklaşımları; özellikle üst düzey yöneticilerin stratejik düşünmelerine yardımcı olmak amacıyla değişik organizasyonlarda kullanılmak üzere geliştirilmiştir. Bu tezde, belirli bir şirket için bir bilişşel harita ortaya çıkartılmıştır. Önce küçük bir çalışma grubu oluşturulmuştur. Grup üyeleri ile çalışma boyunca birebir çalışılmıştır. Şirketin eski arama konferansı sonuçlarını kullanarak, tüm ifade edilen fikirler şirketin genel yaklaşımlarına uygun olsun olmasın beyin fırtınasının özüne sadık kalınarak hepsi çalışma içine dahil edilmiştir. Grup üyeleri herbir fikri (1-7) ölçeğini kullanarak değerlendirmiştir. Değerlendirilen fikirler daha sonra farklı başlıklar altında kelime işlem programı Textpack ile sınıflandırılmış ve grup üyelerine gösterilmiştir. Daha sonra, grup üyelerince önemli görünen fikirler birtakım seçim kriterlerine göre belirlenen konu başlıkları altında seçilmiştir. Ayrıca, grup üyelerinin değerlendirmelerinden hareketle, çalışma grubunda benzer düşüncelere sahip kişiler istatistik programı SPSS ile gruplandırılmıştır. Son olarak, Decision Explorer programı kullanılarak, bilişsel harita olarak adlandırılan bir neden/sonuç diyagramı bir sistem mantığı içinde çizilmiştir. Decision Explorer ile harita analiz edildikten sonra, grup üyeleri ana amaca varmak için gereken faaliyetler üzerinde karar birliğine varmışlardır. Harita, grup üyelerinin düşüncelerini göstermede açık ve görsel bir yol sunmuştur. Bu tezde kullanılan bilişşel harita kurma ve oluşturma metodları literatürdekilere pek benzememektedir. Çünkü incelenen şirketin geleceğe dönük stratejik düşüncelerinin haritası çıkartılırken farklı yollar takip edilmiş ve farklı programlar birarada kullanılmıştır. Bildiğimiz kadarıyla bu çalışma Türkiye’de gerçekleştirilmiş bilişsel haritaların stratejik düşüncelere ilk uygulamasıdır.

A number of mapping approaches have been devised for the use within different organizations, especially for helping senior managers with their strategic thinking. In this thesis, a cognitive map was elicited for a certain corporation. First, a small group was constituted to work together. Group members worked individually throughout the study. Using the corporation’s past research conference results, in true brainstorming spirit, all ideas, whether they fitted conventional wisdom or not, were accepted. Group members evaluated each idea according to their importance by using (1-7) scale. The evaluated ideas were then categorized under different categories with the word processing program Textpack and showed to the group members. Subsequently, the most important ideas under each category were determined by using some certain selection criteria. Furthermore, the evaluations of the ideas were used to categorize group members who had similar thoughts by using cluster analysis with the statistical program SPSS. Finally, the software program Decision Explorer was used to construct a system in a form of a means/ends diagram, called a cognitive map. After analyzing the map by Decision Explorer, group members agreed on the action necessary to achieve the goal. The final map provided a clear and visual way to illustrate group members’ thoughts. The cognitive map elicitation and construction method used in this thesis is not very similar to those seen in the literature, because different ways and programs were used and followed while mapping the future strategic thoughts of this corporation. According to our knowledge, this is the first application of cognitive mapping to strategic thoughts realized in Turkey.
