In this study, sharp Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filters are designed by using FRM technique, one of the most computationally efficient techniques for synthesizing arbitrary bandwidth sharp FIR filters. As effective filters, prefilter+equalizer approach and Interpolated FIR (IFIR) technique are explained theoretically and by simulations. Then, orijinal FRM, optimum K-stage FRM and IFIR FRM structures are examined comprehensively. It is next shown that how a few simple changes on IFIR FRM technique affect the computational complexity of the overall filter. To show that the FRM technique has not got a statical structure, even-length band-edge shaping filter based FRM and prefilter+equalizer bazed FRM structures are added into this study.
