| tr_TR |
dc.description.abstract | Fuel cells have an important place among alternative energy production methods since they produce clean, emission free energy with high efficiency. They convert chemical energy of fuels directly into electrical energy with high efficiency and without causing any air pollution. In solid oxide fuel cells many kinds of oxide films such as Ni-YSZ (Ni- Yttria stabilized zirconia), Ni-GDC (Ni- Gadolinium-doped ceria), LSM (Lanthanum strontium manganite), (La,Sr)CoO3 and etc. can be used as electrodes of the system. Also, there is a variety in production methods of these electrodes such as sol-gel, tape casting, solid-state reaction, PVD, etc. On the other hand, the electrodes of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells are limited only with platinum and carbon. In this study, the aim is to try to produce and use suitable oxide-type electrodes, which are generally used in SOFCs, in PEM fuel cells. The electrodes are produced by electrochemical deposition techniques, via the deposition of the oxide form of d-orbital type metal ions (Co2+, Rh3+, Ag+) from the electrolyte to the anode surface. These electrodes, aimed to be having high electrocatalytic properties are tested under cathodic polarization. Results are compared with values obtained from substrate metal lead and platinum under same conditions. It is obtained that nonstochiometric cobalt oxide, rhodium oxide and silver oxide electrodes deposited by anodic oxidation method have more electronegative cathode polarization values than the substrate metal lead in 0,1 M H2SO4 solution. | en_US |
