dc.description.abstract The results of the thesis presents extensive information regarding the Mediterranean climate within the context of hydro-climate, local and remote precipitation moisture sources, climate extremes and importance of the air-sea interaction in such a unique region. Additionally, this study uses unprecedented and novel techniques to investigate the Mediterranean climate and its extremes, thereby is an introduction and/or reference for future studies.
